1. ആദിമുതലുള്ളതും ഞങ്ങൾ കേട്ടതും സ്വന്ത കണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു കണ്ടതും ഞങ്ങൾ നോക്കിയതും

1. Aadhimuthalullathum Njangal Kettathum Svantha Kannukondu Kandathum Njangal Nokkiyathum

1. That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched--this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.

2. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൈ തൊട്ടതും ആയ ജീവന്റെ വചനം സംബന്ധിച്ചു — ജീവൻ പ്രത്യക്ഷമായി, ഞങ്ങൾ കണ്ടു സാക്ഷീകരിക്കയും പിതാവിനോടുകൂടെയിരുന്നു ഞങ്ങൾക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷമായ നിത്യജീവനെ നിങ്ങളോടു അറിയിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു —

2. Njangalude Kai Thottathum Aaya Jeevante Vachanam Sambandhichu — Jeevan Prathyakshamaayi, Njangal Kandu Saaksheekarikkayum Pithaavinodukoodeyirunnu Njangalkku Prathyakshamaaya Nithyajeevane Ningalodu Ariyikkayum Cheyyunnu —

2. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.

3. ഞങ്ങൾ കണ്ടും കേട്ടുമുള്ളതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഞങ്ങളോടു കൂട്ടായ്മ ഉണ്ടാകേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളോടും അറിയിക്കുന്നു. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടായ്മയോ പിതാവിനോടും അവന്റെ പുത്രനായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിനോടും ആകുന്നു.

3. Njangal Kandum Kettumullathu Ningalkku Njangalodu Koottaayma Undaakendathinnu Ningalodum Ariyikkunnu. Njangalude Koottaaymayo Pithaavinodum Avante Puthranaaya Yeshukristhuvinodum Aakunnu.

3. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

4. നമ്മുടെ സന്തോഷം പൂർണ്ണമാകുവാൻ ഞങ്ങൾ ഇതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു എഴുതുന്നു.

4. Nammude Santhosham Poornnamaakuvaan Njangal Ithu Ningalkku Ezhuthunnu.

4. We write this to make our joy complete.

5. ദൈവം വെളിച്ചം ആകുന്നു; അവനിൽ ഇരുട്ടു ഒട്ടും ഇല്ല എന്നുള്ളതു ഞങ്ങൾ അവനോടു കേട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു അറിയിക്കുന്ന ദൂതാകുന്നു.

5. Dhaivam Velicham Aakunnu; Avanil Iruttu Ottum Illa Ennullathu Njangal Avanodu Kettu Ningalodu Ariyikkunna Dhoothaakunnu.

5. This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.

6. അവനോടു കൂട്ടായ്മ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറകയും ഇരുട്ടിൽ നടക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ നാം ഭോഷകു പറയുന്നു; സത്യം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

6. Avanodu Koottaayma Undu Ennu Parakayum Iruttil Nadakkayum Cheythaal Naam Bhoshaku Parayunnu; Sathyam Pravarththikkunnathumilla.

6. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.

7. അവൻ വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നതു പോലെ നാം വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ നടക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ നമുക്കു തമ്മിൽ കൂട്ടായ്മ ഉണ്ടു; അവന്റെ പുത്രനായ യേശുവിന്റെ രക്തം സകല പാപവും പോക്കി നമ്മെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നു.

7. Avan Velichaththil Irikkunnathu Pole Naam Velichaththil Nadakkunnuvenkil Namukku Thammil Koottaayma Undu; Avante Puthranaaya Yeshuvinte Raktham Sakala Paapavum Pokki Namme Shuddheekarikkunnu.

7. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

8. നമുക്കു പാപം ഇല്ല എന്നു നാം പറയുന്നു എങ്കിൽ നമ്മെത്തന്നേ വഞ്ചിക്കുന്നു; സത്യം നമ്മിൽ ഇല്ലാതെയായി.

8. Namukku Paapam Illa Ennu Naam Parayunnu Enkil Nammeththanne Vanchikkunnu; Sathyam Nammil Illaatheyaayi.

8. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

9. നമ്മുടെ പാപങ്ങളെ ഏറ്റുപറയുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവൻ നമ്മോടു പാപങ്ങളെ ക്ഷമിച്ചു സകല അനീതിയും പോക്കി നമ്മെ ശുദ്ധീകരിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം വിശ്വസ്തനും നീതിമാനും ആകുന്നു.

9. Nammude Paapangale Ettuparayunnu Enkil Avan Nammodu Paapangale Kshamichu Sakala Aneethiyum Pokki Namme Shuddheekarippaan Thakkavannam Vishvasthanum Neethimaanum Aakunnu.

9. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

10. നാം പാപം ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ അവനെ അസത്യവാദിയാക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ വചനം നമ്മിൽ ഇല്ലാതെയായി.

10. Naam Paapam Cheythittilla Ennu Parayunnuvenkil Avane Asathyavaadhiyaakkunnu; Avante Vachanam Nammil Illaatheyaayi.

10. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.
