English Meaning

  1. A muscle of the thigh arising from the descending ramus of the pubis, running along the inner border of the thigh, and inserted in the upper part of the shaft of the tibia, assisting to adduct the thigh and flex the leg: so called from its slenderness in man. It is one of the adductor group.
