1. ആദിയിൽ ദൈവം ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു.

1. Aadhiyil Dhaivam Aakaashavum Bhoomiyum Srushdichu.

1. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

2. ഭൂമി പാഴായും ശൂന്യമായും ഇരുന്നു; ആഴത്തിന്മീതെ ഇരുൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവു വെള്ളത്തിൻ മീതെ പരിവർത്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

2. Bhoomi Paazhaayum Shoonyamaayum Irunnu; Aazhaththinmeethe Irul Undaayirunnu. Dhaivaththinte Aathmaavu Vellaththin Meethe Parivarththichukondirunnu.

2. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3. വെളിച്ചം ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; വെളിച്ചം ഉണ്ടായി.

3. Velicham Undaakatte Ennu Dhaivam Kalpichu; Velicham Undaayi.

3. And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

4. വെളിച്ചം നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു ദൈവം വെളിച്ചവും ഇരുളും തമ്മിൽ വേർപിരിച്ചു.

4. Velicham Nallathu Ennu Dhaivam Kandu Dhaivam Velichavum Irulum Thammil Verpirichu.

4. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.

5. ദൈവം വെളിച്ചത്തിന്നു പകൽ എന്നും ഇരുളിന്നു രാത്രി എന്നും പേരിട്ടു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, ഒന്നാം ദിവസം.

5. Dhaivam Velichaththinnu Pakal Ennum Irulinnu Raathri Ennum Perittu. Sandhyayaayi Ushassumaayi, Onnaam Dhivasam.

5. God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning-the first day.

6. ദൈവം വെള്ളങ്ങളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഒരു വിതാനം ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ; അതു വെള്ളത്തിന്നും വെള്ളത്തിന്നും തമ്മിൽ വേർപിരിവായിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

6. Dhaivam Vellangalude Maddhye Oru Vithaanam Undaakatte; Athu Vellaththinnum Vellaththinnum Thammil Verpirivaayirikkatte Ennu Kalpichu.

6. And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water."

7. വിതാനം ഉണ്ടാക്കീട്ടു ദൈവം വിതാനത്തിൻ കീഴുള്ള വെള്ളവും വിതാനത്തിൻ മീതെയുള്ള വെള്ളവും തമ്മിൽ വേർപിരിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

7. Vithaanam Undaakkeettu Dhaivam Vithaanaththin Keezhulla Vellavum Vithaanaththin Meetheyulla Vellavum Thammil Verpirichu; Angane Sambhavichu.

7. So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so.

8. ദൈവം വിതാനത്തിന്നു ആകാശം എന്നു പേരിട്ടു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, രണ്ടാം ദിവസം.

8. Dhaivam Vithaanaththinnu Aakaasham Ennu Perittu. Sandhyayaayi Ushassumaayi, Randaam Dhivasam.

8. God called the expanse "sky." And there was evening, and there was morning-the second day.

9. ദൈവം: ആകാശത്തിൻ കീഴുള്ള വെള്ളം ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തു കൂടട്ടെ; ഉണങ്ങിയ നിലം കാണട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

9. Dhaivam: Aakaashaththin Keezhulla Vellam Oru Sthalaththu Koodatte; Unangiya Nilam Kaanatte Ennu Kalpichu; Angane Sambhavichu.

9. And God said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear." And it was so.

10. ഉണങ്ങിയ നിലത്തിന്നു ദൈവം ഭൂമി എന്നും വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ കൂട്ടത്തിന്നു സമുദ്രം എന്നും പേരിട്ടു; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.

10. Unangiya Nilaththinnu Dhaivam Bhoomi Ennum Vellaththinte Koottaththinnu Samudhram Ennum Perittu; Nallathu Ennu Dhaivam Kandu.

10. God called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters he called "seas." And God saw that it was good.

11. ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നു പുല്ലും വിത്തുള്ള സസ്യങ്ങളും ഭൂമിയിൽ അതതു തരം വിത്തുള്ള ഫലം കായിക്കുന്ന വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും മുളെച്ചുവരട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

11. Bhoomiyilninnu Pullum Viththulla Sasyangalum Bhoomiyil Athathu Tharam Viththulla Phalam Kaayikkunna Vrukshangalum Mulechuvaratte Ennu Dhaivam Kalpichu; Angane Sambhavichu.

11. Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so.

12. ഭൂമിയിൽ നിന്നു പുല്ലും അതതു തരം വിത്തുള്ള ഫലം കായിക്കുന്ന വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും മുളെച്ചുവന്നു; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.

12. Bhoomiyil Ninnu Pullum Athathu Tharam Viththulla Phalam Kaayikkunna Vrukshangalum Mulechuvannu; Nallathu Ennu Dhaivam Kandu.

12. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

13. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, മൂന്നാം ദിവസം.

13. Sandhyayaayi Ushassumaayi, Moonnaam Dhivasam.

13. And there was evening, and there was morning-the third day.

14. പകലും രാവും തമ്മിൽ വേർപിരിവാൻ ആകാശവിതാനത്തിൽ വെളിച്ചങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ; അവ അടയാളങ്ങളായും കാലം, ദിവസം, സംവത്സരം എന്നിവ തിരിച്ചറിവാനായും ഉതകട്ടെ;

14. Pakalum Raavum Thammil Verpirivaan Aakaashavithaanaththil Velichangal Undaakatte; Ava Adayaalangalaayum Kaalam, Dhivasam, Samvathsaram Enniva Thiricharivaanaayum Uthakatte;

14. And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years,

15. ഭൂമിയെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ ആകാശവിതാനത്തിൽ അവ വെളിച്ചങ്ങളായിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

15. Bhoomiye Prakaashippippaan Aakaashavithaanaththil Ava Velichangalaayirikkatte Ennu Dhaivam Kalpichu; Angane Sambhavichu.

15. and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth." And it was so.

16. പകൽ വാഴേണ്ടതിന്നു വലിപ്പമേറിയ വെളിച്ചവും രാത്രി വാഴേണ്ടതിന്നു വലിപ്പം കുറഞ്ഞ വെളിച്ചവും ആയി രണ്ടു വലിയ വെളിച്ചങ്ങളെ ദൈവം ഉണ്ടാക്കി; നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി.

16. Pakal Vaazhendathinnu Valippameriya Velichavum Raathri Vaazhendathinnu Valippam Kuranja Velichavum Aayi Randu Valiya Velichangale Dhaivam Undaakki; Nakshathrangaleyum Undaakki.

16. God made two great lights-the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.

17. ഭൂമിയെ പ്രകാശിപ്പിപ്പാനും പകലും രാത്രിയും വാഴുവാനും വെളിച്ചത്തെയും ഇരുളിനെയും തമ്മിൽ വേർപിരിപ്പാനുമായി

17. Bhoomiye Prakaashippippaanum Pakalum Raathriyum Vaazhuvaanum Velichaththeyum Irulineyum Thammil Verpirippaanumaayi

17. God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth,

18. ദൈവം അവയെ ആകാശവിതാനത്തിൽ നിർത്തി; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.

18. Dhaivam Avaye Aakaashavithaanaththil Nirththi; Nallathu Ennu Dhaivam Kandu.

18. to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.

19. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, നാലാം ദിവസം.

19. Sandhyayaayi Ushassumaayi, Naalaam Dhivasam.

19. And there was evening, and there was morning-the fourth day.

20. വെള്ളത്തിൽ ജലജന്തുക്കൾ കൂട്ടമായി ജനിക്കട്ടെ; ഭൂമിയുടെ മീതെ ആകാശവിതാനത്തിൽ പറവജാതി പറക്കട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു.

20. Vellaththil Jalajanthukkal Koottamaayi Janikkatte; Bhoomiyude Meethe Aakaashavithaanaththil Paravajaathi Parakkatte Ennu Dhaivam Kalpichu.

20. And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky."

21. ദൈവം വലിയ തിമിംഗലങ്ങളെയും വെള്ളത്തിൽ കൂട്ടമായി ജനിച്ചു ചരിക്കുന്ന അതതുതരം ജീവജന്തുക്കളെയും അതതു തരം പറവജാതിയെയും സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.

21. Dhaivam Valiya Thimimgalangaleyum Vellaththil Koottamaayi Janichu Charikkunna Athathutharam Jeevajanthukkaleyum Athathu Tharam Paravajaathiyeyum Srushdichu; Nallathu Ennu Dhaivam Kandu.

21. So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

22. നിങ്ങൾ വർദ്ധിച്ചു പെരുകി സമുദ്രത്തിലെ വെള്ളത്തിൽ നിറവിൻ; പറവജാതി ഭൂമിയിൽ പെരുകട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു ദൈവം അവയെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

22. Ningal Varddhichu Peruki Samudhraththile Vellaththil Niravin; Paravajaathi Bhoomiyil Perukatte Ennu Kalpichu Dhaivam Avaye Anugrahichu.

22. God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth."

23. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, അഞ്ചാം ദിവസം.

23. Sandhyayaayi Ushassumaayi, Anchaam Dhivasam.

23. And there was evening, and there was morning-the fifth day.

24. അതതുതരം കന്നുകാലി, ഇഴജാതി, കാട്ടുമൃഗം ഇങ്ങനെ അതതു തരം ജീവജന്തുക്കൾ ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നു ഉളവാകട്ടെ എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

24. Athathutharam Kannukaali, Izhajaathi, Kaattumrugam Ingane Athathu Tharam Jeevajanthukkal Bhoomiyilninnu Ulavaakatte Ennu Dhaivam Kalpichu; Angane Sambhavichu.

24. And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so.

25. ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവം അതതു തരം കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളെയും അതതു തരം കന്നുകാലികളെയും അതതു തരം ഭൂചരജന്തുക്കളെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; നല്ലതു എന്നു ദൈവം കണ്ടു.

25. Ingane Dhaivam Athathu Tharam Kaattumrugangaleyum Athathu Tharam Kannukaalikaleyum Athathu Tharam Bhoocharajanthukkaleyum Undaakki; Nallathu Ennu Dhaivam Kandu.

25. God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

26. അനന്തരം ദൈവം: നാം നമ്മുടെ സ്വരൂപത്തിൽ നമ്മുടെ സാദൃശ്യപ്രകാരം മനുഷ്യനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കുക; അവർ സമുദ്രത്തിലുള്ള മത്സ്യത്തിന്മേലും ആകാശത്തിലുള്ള പറവജാതിയിന്മേലും മൃഗങ്ങളിന്മേലും സർവ്വഭൂമിയിന്മേലും ഭൂമിയിൽ ഇഴയുന്ന എല്ലാ ഇഴജാതിയിന്മേലും വാഴട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

26. Anantharam Dhaivam: Naam Nammude Svaroopaththil Nammude Saadhrushyaprakaaram Manushyane Undaakkuka; Avar Samudhraththilulla Mathsyaththinmelum Aakaashaththilulla Paravajaathiyinmelum Mrugangalinmelum Sarvvabhoomiyinmelum Bhoomiyil Izhayunna Ellaa Izhajaathiyinmelum Vaazhatte Ennu Kalpichu.

26. Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

27. ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവം തന്റെ സ്വരൂപത്തിൽ മനുഷ്യനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്വരൂപത്തിൽ അവനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു, ആണും പെണ്ണുമായി അവരെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു.

27. Ingane Dhaivam Thante Svaroopaththil Manushyane Srushdichu, Dhaivaththinte Svaroopaththil Avane Srushdichu, Aanum Pennumaayi Avare Srushdichu.

27. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

28. ദൈവം അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരായി പെരുകി ഭൂമിയിൽ നിറഞ്ഞു അതിനെ അടക്കി സമുദ്രത്തിലെ മത്സ്യത്തിന്മേലും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവജാതിയിന്മേലും സകലഭൂചരജന്തുവിന്മേലും വാഴുവിൻ എന്നു അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

28. Dhaivam Avare Anugrahichu: Ningal Santhaanapushdiyullavaraayi Peruki Bhoomiyil Niranju Athine Adakki Samudhraththile Mathsyaththinmelum Aakaashaththile Paravajaathiyinmelum Sakalabhoocharajanthuvinmelum Vaazhuvin Ennu Avareaadu Kalpichu.

28. God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."

29. ഭൂമിയിൽ എങ്ങും വിത്തുള്ള സസ്യങ്ങളും വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ വിത്തുള്ള ഫലം കായിക്കുന്ന സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും ഇതാ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ആഹാരമായിരിക്കട്ടെ;

29. Bhoomiyil Engum Viththulla Sasyangalum Vrukshaththinte Viththulla Phalam Kaayikkunna Sakalavrukshangalum Ithaa, Njaan Ningalkku Thannirikkunnu; Ava Ningalkku Aahaaramaayirikkatte;

29. Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.

30. ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലമൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും ആകാശത്തിലെ എല്ലാ പറവകൾക്കും ഭൂമിയിൽ ചരിക്കുന്ന സകല ഭൂചരജന്തുക്കൾക്കും ആഹാരമായിട്ടു പച്ചസസ്യം ഒക്കെയും ഞാൻ കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ദൈവം കല്പിച്ചു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.

30. Bhoomiyile Sakalamrugangalkkum Aakaashaththile Ellaa Paravakalkkum Bhoomiyil Charikkunna Sakala Bhoocharajanthukkalkkum Aahaaramaayittu Pachasasyam Okkeyum Njaan Koduththirikkunnu Ennu Dhaivam Kalpichu; Angane Sambhavichu.

30. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground-everything that has the breath of life in it-I give every green plant for food." And it was so.

31. താൻ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയതിനെ ഒക്കെയും ദൈവം നോക്കി, അതു എത്രയും നല്ലതു എന്നു കണ്ടു. സന്ധ്യയായി ഉഷസ്സുമായി, ആറാം ദിവസം.

31. Thaan Undaakkiyathine Okkeyum Dhaivam Neaakki, Athu Ethrayum Nallathu Ennu Kandu. Sandhyayaayi Ushassumaayi, Aaraam Dhivasam.

31. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning-the sixth day.
