1. ഭൂമിയിൽ ഒക്കെയും ഒരേ ഭാഷയും ഒരേ വാക്കും ആയിരുന്നു.

1. Bhoomiyil Okkeyum Ore Bhaashayum Ore Vaakkum Aayirunnu.

1. Now the whole world had one language and a common speech.

2. എന്നാൽ അവർ കിഴക്കോട്ടു യാത്ര ചെയ്തു, ശിനാർദേശത്തു ഒരു സമഭൂമി കണ്ടു അവിടെ കുടിയിരുന്നു.

2. Ennaal Avar Kizhakkottu Yaathra Cheythu, Shinaardheshaththu Oru Samabhoomi Kandu Avide Kudiyirunnu.

2. As men moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.

3. അവർ തമ്മിൽ: വരുവിൻ, നാം ഇഷ്ടക അറുത്തു ചുടുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവർ ഇഷ്ടക കല്ലായും പശമണ്ണു കുമ്മായമായും ഉപയോഗിച്ചു.

3. Avar Thammil: Varuvin, Naam Ishdaka Aruththu Chuduka Ennu Paranju. Angane Avar Ishdaka Kallaayum Pashamannu Kummaayamaayum Upayogichu.

3. They said to each other, "Come, let's make bricks and bake them thoroughly." They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar.

4. വരുവിൻ, നാം ഭൂതലത്തിൽ ഒക്കെയും ചിതറിപ്പോകാതിരിപ്പാൻഒരു പട്ടണവും ആകാശത്തോളം എത്തുന്ന ഒരു ഗോപുരവും പണിക; നമുക്കു ഒരു പേരുമുണ്ടാക്കുക എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

4. Varuvin, Naam Bhoothalaththil Okkeyum Chitharippokaathirippaanoru Pattanavum Aakaashaththolam Eththunna Oru Gopuravum Panika; Namukku Oru Perumundaakkuka Ennu Avar Paranju.

4. Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth."

5. മനുഷ്യർ പണിത പട്ടണവും ഗോപുരവും കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവ ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു.

5. Manushyar Panitha Pattanavum Gopuravum Kaanendathinnu Yahova Irangivannu.

5. But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building.

6. അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ: ഇതാ, ജനം ഒന്നു അവർക്കെല്ലാവർക്കും ഭാഷയും ഒന്നു; ഇതും അവർ ചെയ്തു തുടങ്ങുന്നു; അവർ ചെയ്‍വാൻ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നതൊന്നും അവർക്കു അസാദ്ധ്യമാകയില്ല.

6. Appol Yahova: Ithaa, Janam Onnu Avarkkellaavarkkum Bhaashayum Onnu; Ithum Avar Cheythu Thudangunnu; Avar Chey‍vaan Niroopikkunnathonnum Avarkku Asaaddhyamaakayilla.

6. The LORD said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.

7. വരുവിൻ; നാം ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു, അവർ തമ്മിൽ ഭാഷതിരിച്ചറിയാതിരിപ്പാൻഅവരുടെ ഭാഷ കലക്കിക്കളക എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

7. Varuvin; Naam Irangichennu, Avar Thammil Bhaashathirichariyaathirippaanavarude Bhaasha Kalakkikkalaka Ennu Arulicheythu.

7. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other."

8. അങ്ങനെ യഹോവ അവരെ അവിടെനിന്നു ഭൂതലത്തിലെങ്ങും ചിന്നിച്ചു; അവർ പട്ടണം പണിയുന്നതു വിട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.

8. Angane Yahova Avare Avideninnu Bhoothalaththilengum Chinnichu; Avar Pattanam Paniyunnathu Vittukalanju.

8. So the LORD scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city.

9. സർവ്വഭൂമിയിലെയും ഭാഷ യഹോവ അവിടെവെച്ചു കലക്കിക്കളകയാൽ അതിന്നു ബാബേൽ എന്നു പേരായി; യഹോവ അവരെ അവിടെനിന്നു ഭൂതലത്തിൽ എങ്ങും ചിന്നിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

9. Sarvvabhoomiyileyum Bhaasha Yahova Avidevechu Kalakkikkalakayaal Athinnu Baabel Ennu Peraayi; Yahova Avare Avideninnu Bhoothalaththil Engum Chinnichukalanju.

9. That is why it was called Babel -because there the LORD confused the language of the whole world. From there the LORD scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

10. ശേമിൻറെ വംശപാരമ്പര്യമാവിതു: ശേമിന്നു നൂറു വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അവൻജലപ്രളയത്തിന്നു പിമ്പു രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം അർപ്പക്ഷാദിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

10. Sheminre Vamshapaaramparyamaavithu: Sheminnu Nooru Vayassaayappol Avanjalapralayaththinnu Pimpu Randu Samvathsaram Kazhinjashesham Arppakshaadhine Janippichu.

10. This is the account of Shem. Two years after the flood, when Shem was 100 years old, he became the father of Arphaxad.

11. അർപ്പക്ഷാദിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചശേഷം ശേം അഞ്ഞൂറു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

11. Arppakshaadhine Janippichashesham Shem Anjooru Samvathsaram Jeevichirunnu Puthranmaareyum Puthrimaareyum Janippichu.

11. And after he became the father of Arphaxad, Shem lived 500 years and had other sons and daughters.

12. അർപ്പക്ഷാദിന്നു മുപ്പത്തഞ്ചു വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അവൻശാലഹിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

12. Arppakshaadhinnu Muppaththanchu Vayassaayappol Avanshaalahine Janippichu.

12. When Arphaxad had lived 35 years, he became the father of Shelah.

13. ശാലഹിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചശേഷം അർപ്പക്ഷാദ് നാനൂറ്റിമൂന്നു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

13. Shaalahine Janippichashesham Arppakshaadhu Naanoottimoonnu Samvathsaram Jeevichirunnu Puthranmaareyum Puthrimaareyum Janippichu.

13. And after he became the father of Shelah, Arphaxad lived 403 years and had other sons and daughters.

14. ശാലഹിന്നു മുപ്പതു വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അവൻഏബെരിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

14. Shaalahinnu Muppathu Vayassaayappol Avaneberine Janippichu.

14. When Shelah had lived 30 years, he became the father of Eber.

15. ഏബെരിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചശേഷം ശാലഹ് നാനൂറ്റി മൂന്നു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

15. Eberine Janippichashesham Shaalahu Naanootti Moonnu Samvathsaram Jeevichirunnu Puthranmaareyum Puthrimaareyum Janippichu.

15. And after he became the father of Eber, Shelah lived 403 years and had other sons and daughters.

16. ഏബെരിന്നു മുപ്പത്തിനാലു വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അവൻപേലെഗിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

16. Eberinnu Muppaththinaalu Vayassaayappol Avanpelegine Janippichu.

16. When Eber had lived 34 years, he became the father of Peleg.

17. പേലെഗിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചശേഷം ഏബെർ നാനൂറ്റിമുപ്പതു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

17. Pelegine Janippichashesham Eber Naanoottimuppathu Samvathsaram Jeevichirunnu Puthranmaareyum Puthrimaareyum Janippichu.

17. And after he became the father of Peleg, Eber lived 430 years and had other sons and daughters.

18. പേലെഗിന്നു മുപ്പതു വയ്സായപ്പോൾ അവൻരെയൂവിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

18. Peleginnu Muppathu Vaysaayappol Avanreyoovine Janippichu.

18. When Peleg had lived 30 years, he became the father of Reu.

19. രെയൂവിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചശേഷം പേലെഗ് ഇരൂനൂറ്റൊമ്പതു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

19. Reyoovine Janippichashesham Pelegu Iroonoottompathu Samvathsaram Jeevichirunnu Puthranmaareyum Puthrimaareyum Janippichu.

19. And after he became the father of Reu, Peleg lived 209 years and had other sons and daughters.

20. രെയൂവിന്നു മുപ്പത്തിരണ്ടു വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അവൻശെരൂഗിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

20. Reyoovinnu Muppaththirandu Vayassaayappol Avansheroogine Janippichu.

20. When Reu had lived 32 years, he became the father of Serug.

21. ശെരൂഗിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചശേഷം രെയൂ ഇരുനൂറ്റേഴു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

21. Sheroogine Janippichashesham Reyoo Irunoottezhu Samvathsaram Jeevichirunnu Puthranmaareyum Puthrimaareyum Janippichu.

21. And after he became the father of Serug, Reu lived 207 years and had other sons and daughters.

22. ശെരൂഗിന്നു മുപ്പതു വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അവൻനാഹോരിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

22. Sherooginnu Muppathu Vayassaayappol Avannaahorine Janippichu.

22. When Serug had lived 30 years, he became the father of Nahor.

23. നാഹോരിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചശേഷം ശേരൂഗ് ഇരുനൂറു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

23. Naahorine Janippichashesham Sheroogu Irunooru Samvathsaram Jeevichirunnu Puthranmaareyum Puthrimaareyum Janippichu.

23. And after he became the father of Nahor, Serug lived 200 years and had other sons and daughters.

24. നാഹോരിന്നു ഇരുപത്തൊമ്പതു വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അവൻതേരഹിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

24. Naahorinnu Irupaththompathu Vayassaayappol Avantherahine Janippichu.

24. When Nahor had lived 29 years, he became the father of Terah.

25. തേരഹിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചശേഷം നാഹോർ നൂറ്റി പത്തൊമ്പതു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

25. Therahine Janippichashesham Naahor Nootti Paththompathu Samvathsaram Jeevichirunnu Puthranmaareyum Puthrimaareyum Janippichu.

25. And after he became the father of Terah, Nahor lived 119 years and had other sons and daughters.

26. തേരഹിന്നു എഴുപതു വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ അവൻഅബ്രാം, നാഹോർ, ഹാരാൻഎന്നിവരെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

26. Therahinnu Ezhupathu Vayassaayappol Avanabraam, Naahor, Haaraanennivare Janippichu.

26. After Terah had lived 70 years, he became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran.

27. തേരഹിൻറെ വംശപാരമ്പര്യമാവിതു: തേരഹ് അബ്രാമിനെയും നാഹോരിനെയും ഹാരാനെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; ഹാരാൻലോത്തിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

27. Therahinre Vamshapaaramparyamaavithu: Therahu Abraamineyum Naahorineyum Haaraaneyum Janippichu; Haaraanloththine Janippichu.

27. This is the account of Terah. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran. And Haran became the father of Lot.

28. എന്നാൽ ഹാരാൻതൻറെ ജന്മദേശത്തുവെച്ചു, കൽദയരുടെ ഒരു പട്ടണമായ ഊരിൽവെച്ചു തന്നേ, തൻറെ അപ്പനായ തേരഹിന്നു മുമ്പെ മരിച്ചുപോയി.

28. Ennaal Haaraanthanre Janmadheshaththuvechu, Kaldhayarude Oru Pattanamaaya Oorilvechu Thanne, Thanre Appanaaya Therahinnu Mumpe Marichupoyi.

28. While his father Terah was still alive, Haran died in Ur of the Chaldeans, in the land of his birth.

29. അബ്രാമും നാഹോരും ഭാര്യമാരെ എടുത്തു; അബ്രാമിൻറെ ഭാര്യെക്കു സാറായി എന്നും നാഹോരിൻറെ ഭാര്യെക്കു മിൽക്കാ എന്നും പേർ. ഇവൾ മിൽക്കയുടെയും യിസ്കയുടെയും അപ്പനായ ഹാരാൻറെ മകൾ തന്നെ.

29. Abraamum Naahorum Bhaaryamaare Eduththu; Abraaminre Bhaaryekku Saaraayi Ennum Naahorinre Bhaaryekku Milkkaa Ennum Per. Ival Milkkayudeyum Yiskayudeyum Appanaaya Haaraanre Makal Thanne.

29. Abram and Nahor both married. The name of Abram's wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor's wife was Milcah; she was the daughter of Haran, the father of both Milcah and Iscah.

30. സാറായി മച്ചിയായിരുന്നു; അവൾക്കു സന്തതി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.

30. Saaraayi Machiyaayirunnu; Avalkku Santhathi Undaayirunnilla.

30. Now Sarai was barren; she had no children.

31. തേരഹ് തൻറെ മകനായ അബ്രാമിനെയും ഹാരാൻറെ മകനായ തൻറെ പൗത്രൻലോത്തിനെയും തൻറെ മകനായ അബ്രാമിൻറെ ഭാര്യയായി മരുമകളായ സാറായിയെയും കൂട്ടി കൽദയരുടെ പട്ടണമായ ഊരിൽനിന്നു കനാൻദേശത്തേക്കു പോകുവാൻപുറപ്പെട്ടു; അവർ ഹാരാൻവരെ വന്നു അവിടെ പാർത്തു.

31. Therahu Thanre Makanaaya Abraamineyum Haaraanre Makanaaya Thanre Pauthranloththineyum Thanre Makanaaya Abraaminre Bhaaryayaayi Marumakalaaya Saaraayiyeyum Kootti Kaldhayarude Pattanamaaya Oorilninnu Kanaandheshaththekku Pokuvaanpurappettu; Avar Haaraanvare Vannu Avide Paarththu.

31. Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Haran, they settled there.

32. തേരഹിൻറെ ആയുഷ്കാലം ഇരുനൂറ്റഞ്ചു സംവത്സരം ആയിരുന്നു; തേരഹ് ഹാരാനിൽവെച്ചു മരിച്ചു.

32. Therahinre Aayushkaalam Irunoottanchu Samvathsaram Aayirunnu; Therahu Haaraanilvechu Marichu.

32. Terah lived 205 years, and he died in Haran.
