1. യഹോവ അബ്രാമിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാൽ: നീ നിൻറെ ദേശത്തെയും ചാർച്ചക്കാരെയും പിതൃഭവനത്തെയും വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഞാൻനിന്നെ കാണിപ്പാനിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തെക്കു പോക.

1. Yahova Abraaminodu Arulicheythathenthennaal: Nee Ninre Dheshaththeyum Chaarchakkaareyum Pithrubhavanaththeyum Vittu Purappettu Njaanninne Kaanippaanirikkunna Dheshaththekku Poka.

1. The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you.

2. ഞാൻനിന്നെ വലിയോരു ജാതിയാക്കും; നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു നിൻറെ പേർ വലുതാക്കും; നീ ഒരു അനുഗ്രഹമായിരിക്കും.

2. Njaanninne Valiyoru Jaathiyaakkum; Ninne Anugrahichu Ninre Per Valuthaakkum; Nee Oru Anugrahamaayirikkum.

2. "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

3. നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാൻഅനുഗ്രഹിക്കും. നിന്നെ ശപിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാൻശപിക്കും; നിന്നിൽ ഭൂമിയിലെ സകല വംശങ്ങളും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും.

3. Ninne Anugrahikkunnavare Njaananugrahikkum. Ninne Shapikkunnavare Njaanshapikkum; Ninnil Bhoomiyile Sakala Vamshangalum Anugrahikkappedum.

3. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

4. യഹോവ തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അബ്രാം പുറപ്പെട്ടു; ലോത്തും അവനോടുകൂടെ പോയി; ഹാരാനിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ അബ്രാമിന്നു എഴുപത്തഞ്ചു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു.

4. Yahova Thannodu Kalpichathupole Abraam Purappettu; Loththum Avanodukoode Poyi; Haaraanilninnu Purappedumpol Abraaminnu Ezhupaththanchu Vayassaayirunnu.

4. So Abram left, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran.

5. അബ്രാം തൻറെ ഭാര്യയായ സാറായിയെയും സഹോദരൻറെ മകനായ ലോത്തിനെയും തങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ സമ്പത്തുകളെയൊക്കെയും തങ്ങൾ ഹാരാനിൽ വെച്ചു സമ്പാദിച്ച ആളുകളെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു കനാൻദേശത്തേക്കു പോകുവാൻപുറപ്പെട്ടു കനാൻദേശത്തു എത്തി.

5. Abraam Thanre Bhaaryayaaya Saaraayiyeyum Sahodharanre Makanaaya Loththineyum Thangal Undaakkiya Sampaththukaleyokkeyum Thangal Haaraanil Vechu Sampaadhicha Aalukaleyum Koottikkondu Kanaandheshaththekku Pokuvaanpurappettu Kanaandheshaththu Eththi.

5. He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived there.

6. അബ്രാം ശേഖേമെന്ന സ്ഥലംവരെയും ഏലോൻമോരെവരെയും ദേശത്തുകൂടി സഞ്ചരിച്ചു. അന്നു കനാന്യൻദേശത്തു പാർത്തിരുന്നു.

6. Abraam Shekhemenna Sthalamvareyum Elonmorevareyum Dheshaththukoodi Sancharichu. Annu Kanaanyandheshaththu Paarththirunnu.

6. Abram traveled through the land as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. At that time the Canaanites were in the land.

7. യഹോവ അബ്രാമിന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി: നിൻറെ സന്തതിക്കു ഞാൻഈ ദേശം കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു. തനിക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായ യഹോവെക്കു അവൻഅവിടെ ഒരു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു.

7. Yahova Abraaminnu Prathyakshanaayi: Ninre Santhathikku Njaanee Dhesham Kodukkumennu Arulicheythu. Thanikku Prathyakshanaaya Yahovekku Avanavide Oru Yaagapeedam Panithu.

7. The LORD appeared to Abram and said, "To your offspring I will give this land." So he built an altar there to the LORD, who had appeared to him.

8. അവൻഅവിടെനിന്നു ബേഥേലിന്നു കിഴക്കുള്ള മലെക്കു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; ബേഥേൽ പടിഞ്ഞാറും ഹായി കിഴക്കുമായി കൂടാരം അടിച്ചു; അവിടെ അവൻയഹോവെക്കു ഒരു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ ആരാധിച്ചു.

8. Avanavideninnu Bethelinnu Kizhakkulla Malekku Purappettu; Bethel Padinjaarum Haayi Kizhakkumaayi Koodaaram Adichu; Avide Avanyahovekku Oru Yaagapeedam Panithu Yahovayude Naamaththil Aaraadhichu.

8. From there he went on toward the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the LORD and called on the name of the LORD.

9. അബ്രാം പിന്നെയും തെക്കോട്ടു യാത്രചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

9. Abraam Pinneyum Thekkottu Yaathracheythukondirunnu.

9. Then Abram set out and continued toward the Negev.

10. ദേശത്തു ക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടായി; ദേശത്തു ക്ഷാമം കഠിനമായി തീർന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അബ്രാം മിസ്രയീമിൽ ചെന്നുപാർപ്പാൻഅവിടേക്കു പോയി.

10. Dheshaththu Kshaamam Undaayi; Dheshaththu Kshaamam Kadinamaayi Theernnathukondu Abraam Misrayeemil Chennupaarppaanavidekku Poyi.

10. Now there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down to Egypt to live there for a while because the famine was severe.

11. മിസ്രയീമിൽ എത്തുമാറായപ്പോൾ അവൻതൻറെ ഭാര്യ സാറായിയോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഇതാ, നീ സൗന്ദര്യമുള്ള സ്ത്രീയെന്നു ഞാൻഅറിയുന്നു.

11. Misrayeemil Eththumaaraayappol Avanthanre Bhaarya Saaraayiyodu Paranjathu: Ithaa, Nee Saundharyamulla Sthreeyennu Njaanariyunnu.

11. As he was about to enter Egypt, he said to his wife Sarai, "I know what a beautiful woman you are.

12. മിസ്രയീമ്യർ നിന്നെ കാണുമ്പോൾ ഇവൾ അവൻറെ ഭാര്യയെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നെകൊല്ലുകയും നിന്നെ ജീവനോടെ രക്ഷിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

12. Misrayeemyar Ninne Kaanumpol Ival Avanre Bhaaryayennu Paranju Ennekollukayum Ninne Jeevanode Rakshikkayum Cheyyum.

12. When the Egyptians see you, they will say, 'This is his wife.' Then they will kill me but will let you live.

13. നീ എൻറെ സഹോദരിയെന്നു പറയേണം; എന്നാൽ നിൻറെ നിമിത്തം എനിക്കു നന്മവരികയും ഞാൻജീവിച്ചിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

13. Nee Enre Sahodhariyennu Parayenam; Ennaal Ninre Nimiththam Enikku Nanmavarikayum Njaanjeevichirikkayum Cheyyum.

13. Say you are my sister, so that I will be treated well for your sake and my life will be spared because of you."

14. അങ്ങനെ അബ്രാം മിസ്രയീമിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ സ്ത്രീ അതി സുന്ദരി എന്നു മിസ്രയീമ്യർ കണ്ടു.

14. Angane Abraam Misrayeemil Eththiyappol Sthree Athi Sundhari Ennu Misrayeemyar Kandu.

14. When Abram came to Egypt, the Egyptians saw that she was a very beautiful woman.

15. ഫറവോൻറെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും അവളെ കണ്ടു, ഫറവോൻറെ മുമ്പാകെ അവളെ പ്രശംസിച്ചു; സ്ത്രീ ഫറവോൻറെ അരമനയിൽ പോകേണ്ടിവന്നു.

15. Pharavonre Prabhukkanmaarum Avale Kandu, Pharavonre Mumpaake Avale Prashamsichu; Sthree Pharavonre Aramanayil Pokendivannu.

15. And when Pharaoh's officials saw her, they praised her to Pharaoh, and she was taken into his palace.

16. അവളുടെ നിമിത്തം അവൻഅബ്രാമിന്നു നന്മ ചെയ്തു; അവന്നു ആടുമാടുകളും ആൺകഴുതകളും ദാസന്മാരും ദാസിമാരും പെൺകഴുതകളും ഒട്ടകങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

16. Avalude Nimiththam Avanabraaminnu Nanma Cheythu; Avannu Aadumaadukalum Aankazhuthakalum Dhaasanmaarum Dhaasimaarum Penkazhuthakalum Ottakangalum Undaayirunnu.

16. He treated Abram well for her sake, and Abram acquired sheep and cattle, male and female donkeys, menservants and maidservants, and camels.

17. അബ്രാമിൻറെ ഭാര്യയായ സാറായിനിമിത്തം യഹോവ ഫറവോനെയും അവൻറെ കുടുംബത്തെയും അത്യന്തം ദണ്ഡിപ്പിച്ചു.

17. Abraaminre Bhaaryayaaya Saaraayinimiththam Yahova Pharavoneyum Avanre Kudumbaththeyum Athyantham Dhandippichu.

17. But the LORD inflicted serious diseases on Pharaoh and his household because of Abram's wife Sarai.

18. അപ്പോൾ ഫറവോൻഅബ്രാമിനെ വിളിച്ചു: നീ എന്നോടു ഈ ചെയ്തതു എന്തു? അവൾ നിൻറെ ഭാര്യയെന്നു എന്നെ അറിയിക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു?

18. Appol Pharavonabraamine Vilichu: Nee Ennodu Ee Cheythathu Enthu? Aval Ninre Bhaaryayennu Enne Ariyikkaanjathu Enthu?

18. So Pharaoh summoned Abram. "What have you done to me?" he said. "Why didn't you tell me she was your wife?

19. അവൾ എൻറെ സഹോദരിയെന്നു എന്തിന്നു പറഞ്ഞു? ഞാൻഅവളെ ഭാര്യയായിട്ടു എടുപ്പാൻസംഗതി വന്നുപോയല്ലോ; ഇപ്പോൾ ഇതാ, നിൻറെ ഭാര്യ; അവളെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. Aval Enre Sahodhariyennu Enthinnu Paranju? Njaanavale Bhaaryayaayittu Eduppaansamgathi Vannupoyallo; Ippol Ithaa, Ninre Bhaarya; Avale Koottikkondu Poka Ennu Paranju.

19. Why did you say, 'She is my sister,' so that I took her to be my wife? Now then, here is your wife. Take her and go!"

20. ഫറവോൻഅവനെക്കുറിച്ചു തൻറെ ആളുകളോടു കല്പിച്ചു; അവർ അവനെയും അവൻറെ ഭാര്യയെയും അവന്നുള്ള സകലവുമായി പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.

20. Pharavonavanekkurichu Thanre Aalukalodu Kalpichu; Avar Avaneyum Avanre Bhaaryayeyum Avannulla Sakalavumaayi Paranjayachu.

20. Then Pharaoh gave orders about Abram to his men, and they sent him on his way, with his wife and everything he had.
