1. ഇങ്ങനെ അബ്രാമും ഭാര്യയും അവന്നുള്ളതൊക്കെയും അവനോടുകൂടെ ലോത്തും മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു തെക്കെ ദേശത്തു വന്നു.

1. Ingane Abraamum Bhaaryayum Avannullathokkeyum Avanodukoode Loththum Misrayeemilninnu Purappettu Thekke Dheshaththu Vannu.

1. So Abram went up from Egypt to the Negev, with his wife and everything he had, and Lot went with him.

2. കന്നുകാലി, വെള്ളി, പൊന്നു ഈ വകയിൽ അബ്രാം ബഹുസമ്പന്നനായിരുന്നു.

2. Kannukaali, Velli, Ponnu Ee Vakayil Abraam Bahusampannanaayirunnu.

2. Abram had become very wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold.

3. അവൻതൻറെ യാത്രയിൽ തെക്കുനിന്നു ബേഥേൽവരെയും ബേഥേലിന്നും ഹായിക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ തനിക്കു ആദിയിൽ കൂടാരം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതും താൻആദിയിൽ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ യാഗപീഠമിരുന്നതുമായ സ്ഥലംവരെയും ചെന്നു.

3. Avanthanre Yaathrayil Thekkuninnu Bethelvareyum Bethelinnum Haayikkum Maddhye Thanikku Aadhiyil Koodaaram Undaayirunnathum Thaanaadhiyil Undaakkiya Yaagapeedamirunnathumaaya Sthalamvareyum Chennu.

3. From the Negev he went from place to place until he came to Bethel, to the place between Bethel and Ai where his tent had been earlier

4. അവിടെ അബ്രാം യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ ആരാധിച്ചു.

5. അബ്രാമിനോടുകൂടെവന്ന ലോത്തിന്നും ആടുമാടുകളും കൂടാരങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

5. Abraaminodukoodevanna Loththinnum Aadumaadukalum Koodaarangalum Undaayirunnu.

5. Now Lot, who was moving about with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents.

6. അവർ ഒന്നിച്ചുപാർപ്പാൻതക്കവണ്ണം ദേശത്തിന്നു അവരെ വഹിച്ചു കൂടാഞ്ഞു; സമ്പത്തു വളരെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവർക്കു ഒന്നിച്ചുപാർപ്പാൻകഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.

6. Avar Onnichupaarppaanthakkavannam Dheshaththinnu Avare Vahichu Koodaanju; Sampaththu Valare Undaayirunnathukondu Avarkku Onnichupaarppaankazhinjilla.

6. But the land could not support them while they stayed together, for their possessions were so great that they were not able to stay together.

7. അബ്രാമിൻറെ കന്നുകാലികളുടെ ഇടയന്മാർക്കും ലോത്തിൻറെ കന്നുകാലികളുടെ ഇടയന്മാർക്കും തമ്മിൽ പിണക്കമുണ്ടായി; കനാന്യരും പെരിസ്യരും അന്നു ദേശത്തു പാർത്തിരുന്നു.

7. Abraaminre Kannukaalikalude Idayanmaarkkum Loththinre Kannukaalikalude Idayanmaarkkum Thammil Pinakkamundaayi; Kanaanyarum Perisyarum Annu Dheshaththu Paarththirunnu.

7. And quarreling arose between Abram's herdsmen and the herdsmen of Lot. The Canaanites and Perizzites were also living in the land at that time.

8. അതു കൊണ്ടു അബ്രാം ലോത്തിനോടു: എനിക്കും നിനക്കും എൻറെ ഇടയന്മാർക്കും നിൻറെ ഇടയന്മാർക്കും തമ്മിൽ പിണക്കം ഉണ്ടാകരുതേ; നാം സഹോദരന്മാരല്ലോ.

8. Athu Kondu Abraam Loththinodu: Enikkum Ninakkum Enre Idayanmaarkkum Ninre Idayanmaarkkum Thammil Pinakkam Undaakaruthe; Naam Sahodharanmaarallo.

8. So Abram said to Lot, "Let's not have any quarreling between you and me, or between your herdsmen and mine, for we are brothers.

9. ദേശമെല്ലാം നിൻറെ മുമ്പാകെ ഇല്ലയോ? എന്നെ വിട്ടുപിരിഞ്ഞാലും. നീ ഇടത്തോട്ടെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻവലത്തോട്ടു പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളാം; നീ വലത്തോട്ടെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻഇടത്തോട്ടു പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

9. Dheshamellaam Ninre Mumpaake Illayo? Enne Vittupirinjaalum. Nee Idaththottenkil Njaanvalaththottu Poykkollaam; Nee Valaththottenkil Njaanidaththottu Poykkollaam Ennu Paranju.

9. Is not the whole land before you? Let's part company. If you go to the left, I'll go to the right; if you go to the right, I'll go to the left."

10. അപ്പോൾ ലോത്ത് നോക്കി, യോർദ്ദാന്നരികെയുള്ള പ്രദേശം ഒക്കെയും നീരോട്ടമുള്ളതെന്നു കണ്ടു; യഹോവ സൊദോമിനെയും ഗൊമോരയെയും നശിപ്പിച്ചതിന്നു മുമ്പെ അതു യഹോവയുടെ തോട്ടംപോലെയും സോവർവരെ മിസ്രയീംദേശംപോലെയും ആയിരുന്നു.

10. Appol Loththu Nokki, Yorddhaannarikeyulla Pradhesham Okkeyum Neerottamullathennu Kandu; Yahova Sodhomineyum Gomorayeyum Nashippichathinnu Mumpe Athu Yahovayude Thottampoleyum Sovarvare Misrayeemdheshampoleyum Aayirunnu.

10. Lot looked up and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan was well watered, like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, toward Zoar. (This was before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.)

11. ലോത്ത് യോർദ്ദാന്നരികെയുള്ള പ്രദേശം ഒക്കെയും തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു; ഇങ്ങനെ ലോത്ത് കിഴക്കോട്ടു യാത്രയായി; അവർ തമ്മിൽ പിരിഞ്ഞു.

11. Loththu Yorddhaannarikeyulla Pradhesham Okkeyum Thiranjeduththu; Ingane Loththu Kizhakkottu Yaathrayaayi; Avar Thammil Pirinju.

11. So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan and set out toward the east. The two men parted company:

12. അബ്രാം കനാൻദേശത്തു പാർത്തു; ലോത്ത് ആ പ്രദേശത്തിലെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ പാർത്തു സൊദോംവരെ കൂടാരം നീക്കി നീക്കി അടിച്ചു.

12. Abraam Kanaandheshaththu Paarththu; Loththu Aa Pradheshaththile Pattanangalil Paarththu Sodhomvare Koodaaram Neekki Neekki Adichu.

12. Abram lived in the land of Canaan, while Lot lived among the cities of the plain and pitched his tents near Sodom.

13. സൊദോംനിവാസികൾ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരും യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ മഹാപാപികളും ആയിരുന്നു.

13. Sodhomnivaasikal Dhushdanmaarum Yahovayude Mumpaake Mahaapaapikalum Aayirunnu.

13. Now the men of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the LORD.

14. ലോത്ത് അബ്രാമിനെ വിട്ടു പിരിഞ്ഞശേഷം യഹോവ അബ്രാമിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു: തലപൊക്കി, നീ ഇരിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു നിന്നു വടക്കോട്ടും തെക്കോട്ടും കിഴക്കോട്ടും പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടും നോക്കുക.

14. Loththu Abraamine Vittu Pirinjashesham Yahova Abraaminodu Arulicheythathu: Thalapokki, Nee Irikkunna Sthalaththu Ninnu Vadakkottum Thekkottum Kizhakkottum Padinjaarottum Nokkuka.

14. The LORD said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, "Lift up your eyes from where you are and look north and south, east and west.

15. നീ കാണുന്ന ഭൂമി ഒക്കെയും ഞാൻനിനക്കും നിൻറെ സന്തതിക്കും ശാശ്വതമായി തരും.

15. Nee Kaanunna Bhoomi Okkeyum Njaanninakkum Ninre Santhathikkum Shaashvathamaayi Tharum.

15. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever.

16. ഞാൻനിന്റെ സന്തതിയെ ഭൂമിയിലെ പൊടിപോലെ ആക്കും: ഭൂമിയിലെ പൊടിയെ എണ്ണുവാൻകഴിയുമെങ്കിൽ നിൻറെ സന്തതിയെയും എണ്ണാം.

16. Njaanninte Santhathiye Bhoomiyile Podipole Aakkum: Bhoomiyile Podiye Ennuvaankazhiyumenkil Ninre Santhathiyeyum Ennaam.

16. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted.

17. നീ പുറപ്പെട്ടു ദേശത്തു നെടുകെയും കുറുകെയും സഞ്ചരിക്ക; ഞാൻഅതു നിനക്കു തരും.

17. Nee Purappettu Dheshaththu Nedukeyum Kurukeyum Sancharikka; Njaanathu Ninakku Tharum.

17. Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you."

18. അപ്പോൾ അബ്രാം കൂടാരം നീക്കി ഹെബ്രോനിൽ മമ്രേയുടെ തോപ്പിൽ വന്നു പാർത്തു; അവിടെ യഹോവെക്കു ഒരു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു.

18. Appol Abraam Koodaaram Neekki Hebronil Mamreyude Thoppil Vannu Paarththu; Avide Yahovekku Oru Yaagapeedam Panithu.

18. So Abram moved his tents and went to live near the great trees of Mamre at Hebron, where he built an altar to the LORD.
