1. അബ്രാമിന്നു തൊണ്ണൂറ്റൊമ്പതു വയസ്സായപ്പോൾ യഹോവ അബ്രാമിന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി അവനോടു: ഞാൻ സർവ്വശക്തിയുള്ള ദൈവം ആകന്നു; നീ എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നടന്നു നിഷ്കളങ്കനായിരിക്ക.

1. Abraaminnu Thonnoottompathu Vayassaayappol Yahova Abraaminnu Prathyakshanaayi Avanodu: Njaan Sarvvashakthiyulla Dhaivam Aakannu; Nee Ente Mumpaake Nadannu Nishkalankanaayirikka.

1. When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, "I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless.

2. എനിക്കും നിനക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ ഞാൻ എന്റെ നിയമം സ്ഥാപിക്കും; നിന്നെ അധികമധികമായി വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

2. Enikkum Ninakkum Maddhye Njaan Ente Niyamam Sthaapikkum; Ninne Adhikamadhikamaayi Varddhippikkum Ennu Arulicheythu.

2. I will confirm my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers."

3. അപ്പോൾ അബ്രാം സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു; ദൈവം അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

3. Appol Abraam Saashdaamgam Veenu; Dhaivam Avanodu Arulicheythathenthennaal:

3. Abram fell facedown, and God said to him,

4. എനിക്കു നിന്നോടു ഒരു നിയമമുണ്ടു; നീ ബഹുജാതികൾക്കു പിതാവാകും;

4. Enikku Ninnodu Oru Niyamamundu; Nee Bahujaathikalkku Pithaavaakum;

4. "As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations.

5. ഇനി നിന്നെ അബ്രാം എന്നല്ല വിളിക്കേണ്ടതു; ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ബഹു ജാതികൾക്കു പിതാവാക്കിയിരിക്കയാൽ നിന്റെ പേർ അബ്രാഹാം എന്നിരിക്കേണം.

5. Ini Ninne Abraam Ennalla Vilikkendathu; Njaan Ninne Bahu Jaathikalkku Pithaavaakkiyirikkayaal Ninte Per Abraahaam Ennirikkenam.

5. No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.

6. ഞാൻ നിന്നെ അധികമധികമായി വർദ്ധിപ്പിച്ചു, അനേകജാതികളാക്കും; നിന്നിൽ നിന്നു രാജാക്കന്മാരും ഉത്ഭവിക്കും.

6. Njaan Ninne Adhikamadhikamaayi Varddhippichu, Anekajaathikalaakkum; Ninnil Ninnu Raajaakkanmaarum Uthbhavikkum.

6. I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.

7. ഞാൻ നിനക്കും നിന്റെ ശേഷം നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും ദൈവമായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ എനിക്കും നിനക്കും നിന്റെ ശേഷം തലമുറതലമുറയായി നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ എന്റെ നിയമത്തെ നിത്യനിയമമായി സ്ഥാപിക്കും.

7. Njaan Ninakkum Ninte Shesham Ninte Santhathikkum Dhaivamaayirikkendathinnu Njaan Enikkum Ninakkum Ninte Shesham Thalamurathalamurayaayi Ninte Santhathikkum Maddhye Ente Niyamaththe Nithyaniyamamaayi Sthaapikkum.

7. I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.

8. ഞാൻ നിനക്കും നിന്റെ ശേഷം നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും നീ പ്രവാസം ചെയ്യുന്ന ദേശമായ കനാൻ ദേശം ഒക്കെയും ശാശ്വതാവകാശമായി തരും; ഞാൻ അവർക്കും ദൈവമായുമിരിക്കും.

8. Njaan Ninakkum Ninte Shesham Ninte Santhathikkum Nee Pravaasam Cheyyunna Dheshamaaya Kanaan Dhesham Okkeyum Shaashvathaavakaashamaayi Tharum; Njaan Avarkkum Dhaivamaayumirikkum.

8. The whole land of Canaan, where you are now an alien, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God."

9. ദൈവം പിന്നെയും അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു: നീയും നിന്റെശേഷം തലമുറതലമുറയായി നിന്റെ സന്തതിയും എന്റെ നിയമം പ്രമാണിക്കേണം.

9. Dhaivam Pinneyum Abraahaaminodu Arulicheythathu: Neeyum Ninteshesham Thalamurathalamurayaayi Ninte Santhathiyum Ente Niyamam Pramaanikkenam.

9. Then God said to Abraham, "As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you for the generations to come.

10. എനിക്കും നിങ്ങൾക്കും നിന്റെ ശേഷം നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും മദ്ധ്യേയുള്ളതും നിങ്ങൾ പ്രമാണിക്കേണ്ടതുമായ എന്റെ നിയമം ആവിതു: നിങ്ങളിൽ പുരുഷപ്രജയൊക്കെയും പരിച്ഛേദന ഏൽക്കേണം.

10. Enikkum Ningalkkum Ninte Shesham Ninte Santhathikkum Maddhyeyullathum Ningal Pramaanikkendathumaaya Ente Niyamam Aavithu: Ningalil Purushaprajayokkeyum Parichchedhana Elkkenam.

10. This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised.

11. നിങ്ങളുടെ അഗ്രചർമ്മം പരിച്ഛേദന ചെയ്യേണം; അതു എനിക്കും നിങ്ങൾക്കും മദ്ധ്യേയുള്ള നിയമത്തിന്റെ അടയാളം ആകും.

11. Ningalude Agracharmmam Parichchedhana Cheyyenam; Athu Enikkum Ningalkkum Maddhyeyulla Niyamaththinte Adayaalam Aakum.

11. You are to undergo circumcision, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and you.

12. തലമുറതലമുറയായി നിങ്ങളിൽ പുരുഷപ്രജയൊക്കെയും എട്ടുദിവസം പ്രായമാകുമ്പോൾ പരിച്ഛേദനഏൽക്കേണം; വീട്ടിൽ ജനിച്ച ദാസനായാലും നിന്റെ സന്തതിയല്ലാത്തവനായി അന്യനോടുവിലകൂ വാങ്ങിയവനായാലും ശരി.

12. Thalamurathalamurayaayi Ningalil Purushaprajayokkeyum Ettudhivasam Praayamaakumpol Parichchedhanaelkkenam; Veettil Janicha Dhaasanaayaalum Ninte Santhathiyallaaththavanaayi Anyanoduvilakoo Vaangiyavanaayaalum Shari.

12. For the generations to come every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised, including those born in your household or bought with money from a foreigner-those who are not your offspring.

13. നിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ജനിച്ച ദാസനും നീ വിലകൊടുത്തു വാങ്ങിയവനും പരിച്ഛേദന ഏറ്റേകഴിയൂ; എന്റെ നിയമം നിങ്ങളുടെ ദേഹത്തിൽ നിത്യനിയമമായിരിക്കേണം.

13. Ninte Veettil Janicha Dhaasanum Nee Vilakoduththu Vaangiyavanum Parichchedhana Ettekazhiyoo; Ente Niyamam Ningalude Dhehaththil Nithyaniyamamaayirikkenam.

13. Whether born in your household or bought with your money, they must be circumcised. My covenant in your flesh is to be an everlasting covenant.

14. അഗ്രചർമ്മിയായ പുരുഷപ്രജയെ പരിച്ഛേദന ഏൽക്കാതിരുന്നാൽ ജനത്തിൽ നിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയേണം; അവൻ എന്റെ നിയമം ലംഘിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. Agracharmmiyaaya Purushaprajaye Parichchedhana Elkkaathirunnaal Janaththil Ninnu Chedhichukalayenam; Avan Ente Niyamam Lamghichirikkunnu.

14. Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant."

15. ദൈവം പിന്നെയും അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു: നിന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ സാറായിയെ സാറായി എന്നല്ല വിളിക്കേണ്ടതു; അവളുടെ പേർ സാറാ എന്നു ഇരിക്കേണം.

15. Dhaivam Pinneyum Abraahaaminodu: Ninte Bhaaryayaaya Saaraayiye Saaraayi Ennalla Vilikkendathu; Avalude Per Saaraa Ennu Irikkenam.

15. God also said to Abraham, "As for Sarai your wife, you are no longer to call her Sarai; her name will be Sarah.

16. ഞാൻ അവളെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവളിൽനിന്നു നിനക്കു ഒരു മകനെ തരും; ഞാൻ അവളെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കയും അവൾ ജാതികൾക്കു മാതാവായി തീരുകയും ജാതികളുടെ രാജാക്കന്മാർ അവളിൽനിന്നു ഉത്ഭവിക്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

16. Njaan Avale Anugrahichu Avalilninnu Ninakku Oru Makane Tharum; Njaan Avale Anugrahikkayum Aval Jaathikalkku Maathaavaayi Theerukayum Jaathikalude Raajaakkanmaar Avalilninnu Uthbhavikkayum Cheyyum Ennu Arulicheythu.

16. I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her."

17. അപ്പോൾ അബ്രാഹാം കവിണ്ണുവീണു ചിരിച്ചു: നൂറു വയസ്സുള്ളവന്നു മകൻ ജനിക്കുമോ? തൊണ്ണൂറു വയസ്സുള്ള സാറാ പ്രസവിക്കുമോ? എന്നു തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞു.

17. Appol Abraahaam Kavinnuveenu Chirichu: Nooru Vayassullavannu Makan Janikkumo? Thonnooru Vayassulla Saaraa Prasavikkumo? Ennu Thante Hrudhayaththil Paranju.

17. Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, "Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?"

18. യിശ്മായേൽ നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നാൽമതി എന്നു അബ്രാഹാം ദൈവത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

18. Yishmaayel Ninte Mumpaake Jeevichirunnaalmathi Ennu Abraahaam Dhaivaththodu Paranju.

18. And Abraham said to God, "If only Ishmael might live under your blessing!"

19. അതിന്നു ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു: അല്ല, നിന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ സാറാ തന്നേ നിനക്കൊരു മകനെ പ്രസവിക്കും; നീ അവന്നു യിസ്ഹാൿ എന്നു പേരിടേണം; ഞാൻ അവനോടു അവന്റെ ശേഷം അവന്റെ സന്തതിയോടും എന്റെ നിയമത്തെ നിത്യനിയമമായി ഉറപ്പിക്കും

19. Athinnu Dhaivam Arulicheythathu: Alla, Ninte Bhaaryayaaya Saaraa Thanne Ninakkoru Makane Prasavikkum; Nee Avannu Yishaak Ennu Peridenam; Njaan Avanodu Avante Shesham Avante Santhathiyodum Ente Niyamaththe Nithyaniyamamaayi Urappikkum

19. Then God said, "Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.

20. യിശ്മായേലിനെ കുറിച്ചും ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ അവനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു അത്യന്തം സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവനാക്കി വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കും. അവൻ പന്ത്രണ്ടു പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെ ജനിപ്പിക്കും; ഞാൻ അവനെ വലിയോരു ജാതിയാക്കും.

20. Yishmaayeline Kurichum Njaan Ninte Apeksha Kettirikkunnu; Njaan Avane Anugrahichu Athyantham Santhaanapushdiyullavanaakki Varddhippikkum. Avan Panthrandu Prabhukkanmaare Janippikkum; Njaan Avane Valiyoru Jaathiyaakkum.

20. And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation.

21. എന്റെ നിയമം ഞാൻ ഉറപ്പിക്കുന്നതോ, ഇനിയത്തെ ആണ്ടു ഈ സമയത്തു സാറാ നിനക്കു പ്രസവിപ്പാനുള്ള യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടു ആകുന്നു.

21. Ente Niyamam Njaan Urappikkunnatho, Iniyaththe Aandu Ee Samayaththu Saaraa Ninakku Prasavippaanulla Yishaakkinodu Aakunnu.

21. But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year."

22. ദൈവം അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു തീർന്നശേഷം അവനെ വിട്ടു കയറിപ്പോയി.

22. Dhaivam Abraahaaminodu Arulicheythu Theernnashesham Avane Vittu Kayarippoyi.

22. When he had finished speaking with Abraham, God went up from him.

23. അനന്തരം അബ്രാഹാം തന്റെ മകനായ യിശ്മായേലിനെയും തന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ജനിച്ച സകല ദാസന്മാരെയും താൻ വിലകൂ വാങ്ങിയവരെ ഒക്കെയും അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ വീട്ടിലുള്ള സകല പുരുഷന്മാരെയും കൂട്ടി ദൈവം തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവരുടെ അഗ്രചർമ്മത്തെ അന്നുതന്നേ പരിച്ഛേദന കഴിച്ചു.

23. Anantharam Abraahaam Thante Makanaaya Yishmaayelineyum Thante Veettil Janicha Sakala Dhaasanmaareyum Thaan Vilakoo Vaangiyavare Okkeyum Abraahaaminte Veettilulla Sakala Purushanmaareyum Kootti Dhaivam Thannodu Kalpichathupole Avarude Agracharmmaththe Annuthanne Parichchedhana Kazhichu.

23. On that very day Abraham took his son Ishmael and all those born in his household or bought with his money, every male in his household, and circumcised them, as God told him.

24. അബ്രാഹാം പരിച്ഛേദനയേറ്റപ്പോൾ അവന്നു തൊണ്ണൂറ്റെമ്പതു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു.

24. Abraahaam Parichchedhanayettappol Avannu Thonnoottempathu Vayassaayirunnu.

24. Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised,

25. അവന്റെ മകനായ യിശ്മായേൽ പരിച്ഛേദനയേറ്റപ്പോൾ അവന്നു പതിമൂന്നു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു.

25. Avante Makanaaya Yishmaayel Parichchedhanayettappol Avannu Pathimoonnu Vayassaayirunnu.

25. and his son Ishmael was thirteen;

26. അബ്രാഹാമും അവന്റെ മകനായ യിശ്മായേലും ഒരേ ദിവസത്തിൽപരിച്ഛേദന ഏറ്റു.

26. Abraahaamum Avante Makanaaya Yishmaayelum Ore Dhivasaththilparichchedhana Ettu.

26. Abraham and his son Ishmael were both circumcised on that same day.

27. വീട്ടിൽ ജനിച്ച ദാസന്മാരും അന്യരോടു അവൻ വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിയവരുമായി അവന്റെ വീട്ടിലുള്ളവർ എല്ലാവരും അവനോടുകൂടെ പരിച്ഛേദന ഏറ്റു.

27. Veettil Janicha Dhaasanmaarum Anyarodu Avan Vilekku Vaangiyavarumaayi Avante Veettilullavar Ellaavarum Avanodukoode Parichchedhana Ettu.

27. And every male in Abraham's household, including those born in his household or bought from a foreigner, was circumcised with him.
