1. അനന്തരം യഹോവ അവന്നു മമ്രേയുടെ തോപ്പിൽവെച്ചു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി; വെയിലുറെച്ചപ്പോൾ അവൻ കൂടാരവാതിൽക്കൽ ഇരിക്കയായിരുന്നു.

1. Anantharam Yahova Avannu Mamreyude Thoppilvechu Prathyakshanaayi; Veyilurechappol Avan Koodaaravaathilkkal Irikkayaayirunnu.

1. The LORD appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day.

2. അവൻ തലപൊക്കി നോക്കിയപ്പോൾ മൂന്നു പുരുഷന്മാർ തന്റെ നേരെ നിലക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അവരെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ അവൻ കൂടാരവാതിൽക്കൽ നിന്നു അവരെ എതിരേല്പാൻ ഔടിച്ചെന്നു നിലംവരെ കുനിഞ്ഞു:

2. Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground.

3. He said, "If I have found favor in your eyes, my lord, do not pass your servant by.

4. അസാരം വെള്ളം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ കാലുകളെ കഴുകട്ടെ; വൃക്ഷത്തിൻ കീഴിൽ ഇരിപ്പിൻ .

4. Asaaram Vellam Konduvannu Ningalude Kaalukale Kazhukatte; Vrukshaththin Keezhil Irippin .

4. Let a little water be brought, and then you may all wash your feet and rest under this tree.

5. Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way-now that you have come to your servant.Very well," they answered, "do as you say."

6. So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah. "Quick," he said, "get three seahs of fine flour and knead it and bake some bread."

7. അബ്രാഹാം പശുക്കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ഔടിച്ചെന്നു ഇളയതും നല്ലതുമായൊരു കാളകൂട്ടിയെ പിടിച്ചു ഒരു ബാല്യക്കാരന്റെ പക്കൽ കൊടുത്തു; അവൻ അതിനെ ക്ഷണത്തിൽ പാകം ചെയ്തു.

7. Then he ran to the herd and selected a choice, tender calf and gave it to a servant, who hurried to prepare it.

8. പിന്നെ അവൻ വെണ്ണയും പാലും താൻ പാകം ചെയ്യിച്ച കാളകൂട്ടിയെയും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു അവരുടെ മുമ്പിൽ വെച്ചു. അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ വൃക്ഷത്തിൻ കീഴിൽ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു നിന്നു; അവർ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചു.

8. He then brought some curds and milk and the calf that had been prepared, and set these before them. While they ate, he stood near them under a tree.

10. Then the LORD said, "I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son." Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him.

11. എന്നാൽ അബ്രാഹാമും സാറയും വയസ്സു ചെന്നു വൃദ്ധരായിരുന്നു. സ്ത്രീകൾക്കുള്ള പതിവു സാറെക്കു നിന്നു പോയിരുന്നു.

11. Ennaal Abraahaamum Saarayum Vayassu Chennu Vruddharaayirunnu. Sthreekalkkulla Pathivu Saarekku Ninnu Poyirunnu.

11. Abraham and Sarah were already old and well advanced in years, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing.

12. ആകയാൽ സാറാ ഉള്ളുകൊണ്ടു ചിരിച്ചു: വൃദ്ധയായിരിക്കുന്ന എനിക്കു സുഖഭോഗമുണ്ടാകുമോ? എന്റെ ഭർത്താവും വൃദ്ധനായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

12. So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, "After I am worn out and my master is old, will I now have this pleasure?"

13. Yahova Abraahaaminodu: Vruddhayaaya Njaan Prasavikkunnathu Vaasthavamo Ennu Paranju Saaraa Chirichathu Enthu?

13. Then the LORD said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh and say, 'Will I really have a child, now that I am old?'

14. യഹോവയാൽ കഴിയാത്ത കാര്യം ഉണ്ടോ? ഒരു ആണ്ടു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഈ സമയമാകുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിവരും; സാറെക്കു ഒരു മകൻ ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

14. Yahovayaal Kazhiyaaththa Kaaryam Undo? Oru Aandu Kazhinjittu Ee Samayamaakumpol Njaan Ninte Adukkal Madangivarum; Saarekku Oru Makan Undaakum Ennu Arulicheythu.

14. Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son."

15. സാറാ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു: ഇല്ല, ഞാൻ ചിരിച്ചില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെയല്ല, നീ ചിരിച്ചു എന്നു അവൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

15. Saaraa Bhayappettu: Illa, Njaan Chirichilla Ennu Paranju. Anganeyalla, Nee Chirichu Ennu Avan Arulicheythu.

15. Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, "I did not laugh." But he said, "Yes, you did laugh."

16. ആ പുരുഷന്മാർ അവിടെനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു സൊദോംവഴിക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു; അബ്രാഹാം അവരെ യാത്ര അയപ്പാൻ അവരോടുകൂടെ പോയി.

16. Aa Purushanmaar Avideninnu Purappettu Sodhomvazhikku Thirinju; Abraahaam Avare Yaathra Ayappaan Avarodukoode Poyi.

16. When the men got up to leave, they looked down toward Sodom, and Abraham walked along with them to see them on their way.

17. അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു: ഞാൻ ചെയ്‍വാനിരിക്കുന്നതു അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു മറെച്ചുവെക്കുമോ?

17. Appol Yahova Arulicheythathu: Njaan Chey‍vaanirikkunnathu Abraahaaminodu Marechuvekkumo?

17. Then the LORD said, "Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?

18. അബ്രാഹാം വലിയതും ബലമുള്ളതുമായ ജാതിയായി തീരുകയും അവനിൽ ഭൂമിയിലെ ജാതികളൊക്കെയും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യുമല്ലോ.

18. Abraahaam Valiyathum Balamullathumaaya Jaathiyaayi Theerukayum Avanil Bhoomiyile Jaathikalokkeyum Anugrahikkappedukayum Cheyyumallo.

18. Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him.

19. യഹോവ അബ്രാഹാമിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു അവന്നു നിവൃത്തിച്ചുകൊടുപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അബ്രാഹാം തന്റെ മക്കളോടും തനിക്കു പിമ്പുള്ള കുടുംബത്തോടും നീതിയും ന്യായവും പ്രവൃത്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ വഴിയിൽ നടപ്പാൻ കല്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ അവനെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

19. Yahova Abraahaaminekkurichu Arulicheythathu Avannu Nivruththichukoduppaan Thakkavannam Abraahaam Thante Makkalodum Thanikku Pimpulla Kudumbaththodum Neethiyum Nyaayavum Pravruththichukondu Yahovayude Vazhiyil Nadappaan Kalpikkendathinnu Njaan Avane Thiranjeduththirikkunnu.

19. For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just, so that the LORD will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him."

20. പിന്നെ യഹോവ: സൊദോമിന്റെയും ഗൊമോരയുടെയും നിലവിളി വലിയതും അവരുടെ പാപം അതി കഠിനവും ആകുന്നു.

20. Pinne Yahova: Sodhominteyum Gomorayudeyum Nilavili Valiyathum Avarude Paapam Athi Kadinavum Aakunnu.

20. Then the LORD said, "The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous

21. ഞാൻ ചെന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നെത്തിയ നിലവിളിപോലെ അവർ കേവലം പ്രവൃത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടോ ഇല്ലയോ എന്നു നോക്കി അറിയും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

21. Njaan Chennu Ente Adukkal Vanneththiya Nilavilipole Avar Kevalam Pravruththichittundo Illayo Ennu Nokki Ariyum Ennu Arulicheythu.

21. that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know."

22. അങ്ങനെ ആ പുരുഷന്മാർ അവിടെനിന്നു തിരിഞ്ഞു സൊദോമിലേക്കു പോയി. അബ്രാഹാമോ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ തന്നേ നിന്നു.

22. Angane Aa Purushanmaar Avideninnu Thirinju Sodhomilekku Poyi. Abraahaamo Yahovayude Sannidhiyil Thanne Ninnu.

22. The men turned away and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the LORD.

23. അബ്രാഹാം അടുത്തുചെന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു: ദുഷ്ടനോടുകൂടെ നീതിമാനെയും നീ സംഹരിക്കുമോ?

23. Abraahaam Aduththuchennu Paranjathu: Dhushdanodukoode Neethimaaneyum Nee Samharikkumo?

23. Then Abraham approached him and said: "Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked?

24. പക്ഷേ ആ പട്ടണത്തിൽ അമ്പതു നീതിമാന്മാർ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ നീ അതിനെ സംഹരിക്കുമോ? അതിലെ അമ്പതു നീതിമാന്മാർ നിമിത്തം ആ സ്ഥലത്തോടു ക്ഷമിക്കയില്ലയോ?

24. Pakshe Aa Pattanaththil Ampathu Neethimaanmaar Undenkil Nee Athine Samharikkumo? Athile Ampathu Neethimaanmaar Nimiththam Aa Sthalaththodu Kshamikkayillayo?

24. What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it?

25. ഇങ്ങനെ നീ ഒരുനാളും ചെയ്യുന്നതല്ലല്ലോ? നീതിമാൻ ദുഷ്ടനെപ്പോലെ ആകത്തക്കവണ്ണം ദുഷ്ടനോടുകൂടെ നീതിമാനെ നീ ഒരുനാളും കൊല്ലുകയില്ല. സർവ്വ ഭൂമിക്കും ന്യായാധിപതിയായവൻ നീതി പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ?

25. Ingane Nee Orunaalum Cheyyunnathallallo? Neethimaan Dhushdaneppole Aakaththakkavannam Dhushdanodukoode Neethimaane Nee Orunaalum Kollukayilla. Sarvva Bhoomikkum Nyaayaadhipathiyaayavan Neethi Pravruththikkaathirikkumo?

25. Far be it from you to do such a thing-to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?"

26. അതിന്നു യഹോവ: ഞാൻ സൊദോമിൽ, പട്ടണത്തിന്നകത്തു, അമ്പതു നീതിമാന്മാരെ കാണുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവരുടെ നിമിത്തം ആ സ്ഥലത്തോടൊക്കെയും ക്ഷമിക്കും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

26. Athinnu Yahova: Njaan Sodhomil, Pattanaththinnakaththu, Ampathu Neethimaanmaare Kaanunnu Enkil Avarude Nimiththam Aa Sthalaththodokkeyum Kshamikkum Ennu Arulicheythu.

26. The LORD said, "If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake."

27. പൊടിയും വെണ്ണീറുമായ ഞാൻ കർത്താവിനോടു സംസാരിപ്പാൻ തുനിഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

27. Podiyum Venneerumaaya Njaan Karththaavinodu Samsaarippaan Thuninjuvallo.

27. Then Abraham spoke up again: "Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes,

28. അമ്പതു നീതിമാന്മാരിൽ പക്ഷേ അഞ്ചുപേർ കുറഞ്ഞു പോയെങ്കിലോ? അഞ്ചുപേർ കുറഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു നീ ആ പട്ടണം മുഴുവനും നശിപ്പിക്കുമോ എന്നു അബ്രാഹാം പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു: നാല്പത്തഞ്ചു പേരെ ഞാൻ അവിടെ കണ്ടാൽ അതിനെ നശിപ്പിക്കയില്ല എന്നു അവൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

28. Ampathu Neethimaanmaaril Pakshe Anchuper Kuranju Poyenkilo? Anchuper Kuranjathukondu Nee Aa Pattanam Muzhuvanum Nashippikkumo Ennu Abraahaam Paranjathinnu: Naalpaththanchu Pere Njaan Avide Kandaal Athine Nashippikkayilla Ennu Avan Arulicheythu.

28. what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city because of five people?If I find forty-five there," he said, "I will not destroy it."

29. അവൻ പിന്നെയും അവനോടു സംസാരിച്ചു: പക്ഷേ നാല്പതുപേരെ അവിടെ കണ്ടാലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു: ഞാൻ നാല്പതുപേരുടെ നിമിത്തം നശിപ്പിക്കയില്ല എന്നു അവൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

29. Avan Pinneyum Avanodu Samsaarichu: Pakshe Naalpathupere Avide Kandaalo Ennu Paranjathinnu: Njaan Naalpathuperude Nimiththam Nashippikkayilla Ennu Avan Arulicheythu.

29. Once again he spoke to him, "What if only forty are found there?" He said, "For the sake of forty, I will not do it."

30. Athinnu Avan : Njaan Pinneyum Samsaarikkunnu; Karththaavu Kopikkaruthe; Pakshe Muppathupere Avide Kandaalo Ennu Paranju. Njaan Muppathupere Avide Kandaal Nashippikkayilla Ennu Avan Arulicheythu.

30. Then he said, "May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak. What if only thirty can be found there?" He answered, "I will not do it if I find thirty there."

31. ഞാൻ കർത്താവിനോടു സംസാരിപ്പാൻ തുനിഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; പക്ഷേ ഇരുപതുപേരെ അവിടെ കണ്ടാലോ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു: ഞാൻ ഇരുപതുപേരുടെ നിമിത്തം നശിപ്പിക്കയില്ല എന്നു അവൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

31. Njaan Karththaavinodu Samsaarippaan Thuninjuvallo; Pakshe Irupathupere Avide Kandaalo Ennu Avan Paranjathinnu: Njaan Irupathuperude Nimiththam Nashippikkayilla Ennu Avan Arulicheythu.

31. Abraham said, "Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, what if only twenty can be found there?" He said, "For the sake of twenty, I will not destroy it."

32. അപ്പോൾ അവൻ : കർത്താവു കോപിക്കരുതേ; ഞാൻ ഇനി ഒരു പ്രാവശ്യം മാത്രം സംസാരിക്കും; പക്ഷേ പത്തു പേരെ അവിടെ കണ്ടാലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഞാൻ പത്തുപേരുടെ നിമിത്തം നശിപ്പിക്കയില്ല എന്നു അവൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

32. Appol Avan : Karththaavu Kopikkaruthe; Njaan Ini Oru Praavashyam Maathram Samsaarikkum; Pakshe Paththu Pere Avide Kandaalo Ennu Paranju. Njaan Paththuperude Nimiththam Nashippikkayilla Ennu Avan Arulicheythu.

32. Then he said, "May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten can be found there?" He answered, "For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it."

33. യഹോവ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു തീർന്നശേഷം അവിടെനിന്നു പോയി. അബ്രാഹാമും തന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

33. Yahova Abraahaaminodu Arulicheythu Theernnashesham Avideninnu Poyi. Abraahaamum Thante Sthalaththekku Madangippoyi.

33. When the LORD had finished speaking with Abraham, he left, and Abraham returned home.
