4. Njaan Ningalude Idayil Paradheshiyum Vannu Paarkkumnnavanum Aakunnu; Njaan Ente Marichavale Kondupoyi Adakkendathinnu Enikku Ningalude Idayil Oru Shmashaanabhoomi Avakaashamaayi Tharuvin Ennu Paranju.

4. "I am an alien and a stranger among you. Sell me some property for a burial site here so I can bury my dead."

6. Nee Njangalude Idayil Dhaivaththinte Oru Prabhuvaakunnu; Njangalude Shmashaanasthalangalilvechu Visheshamaayathil Marichavale Adakkikkolka; Marichavale Adakkuvaan Njangalil Aarum Shmashaanasthalam Ninakku Tharaathirikkayilla Ennu Uththaram Paranju.

6. "Sir, listen to us. You are a mighty prince among us. Bury your dead in the choicest of our tombs. None of us will refuse you his tomb for burying your dead."

7. അപ്പോൾ അബ്രാഹാം എഴുന്നേറ്റു ആ ദേശക്കാരായ ഹിത്യരെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു അവരോടു സംസാരിച്ചു:

7. Appol Abraahaam Ezhunnettu Aa Dheshakkaaraaya Hithyare Namaskarichu Avarodu Samsaarichu:

7. Then Abraham rose and bowed down before the people of the land, the Hittites.

8. എന്റെ മരിച്ചവളെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി അടക്കുവാൻ സമ്മതമുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേട്ടു എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി സോഹരിന്റെ മകനായ എഫ്രോനോടു,

8. He said to them, "If you are willing to let me bury my dead, then listen to me and intercede with Ephron son of Zohar on my behalf

9. Avan Thante Nilaththinte Aruthiyil Thanikkulla Makpelaa Enna Guha Enikku Tharendathinnu Apekshippin ; Ningalude Idayil Shmashaanaavakaashamaayittu Avan Athine Pidippathu Vilekku Tharenam Ennu Paranju.

9. so he will sell me the cave of Machpelah, which belongs to him and is at the end of his field. Ask him to sell it to me for the full price as a burial site among you."

10. എന്നാൽ എഫ്രോൻ ഹിത്യരുടെ നടുവിൽ ഇരിക്കയായിരുന്നു; ഹിത്യനായ എഫ്രോൻ തന്റെ നഗരവാസികളായ ഹിത്യർ എല്ലാവരും കേൾക്കെ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു:

10. Ephron the Hittite was sitting among his people and he replied to Abraham in the hearing of all the Hittites who had come to the gate of his city.

11. അങ്ങനെയല്ല, യജമാനനേ, കേൾക്കേണമേ; നിലം ഞാൻ നിനക്കു തരുന്നു; അതിലെ ഗുഹയും നിനക്കു തരുന്നു; എന്റെ സ്വജനം കാൺകെ തരുന്നു; മരിച്ചവളെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടാലും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

11. Anganeyalla, Yajamaanane, Kelkkename; Nilam Njaan Ninakku Tharunnu; Athile Guhayum Ninakku Tharunnu; Ente Svajanam Kaanke Tharunnu; Marichavale Adakkam Cheythukondaalum Ennu Uththaram Paranju.

11. "No, my lord," he said. "Listen to me; I give you the field, and I give you the cave that is in it. I give it to you in the presence of my people. Bury your dead."

12. അപ്പോൾ അബ്രാഹാം ദേശത്തിലെ ജനത്തെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

12. Appol Abraahaam Dheshaththile Janaththe Namaskarichu.

12. Again Abraham bowed down before the people of the land

13. ദേശത്തിലെ ജനം കേൾക്കെ അവൻ എഫ്രോനോടു: ദയ ചെയ്തു കേൾക്കേണം; നിലത്തിന്റെ വില ഞാൻ നിനക്കു തരുന്നതു എന്നോടു വാങ്ങേണം; എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ മരിച്ചവളെ അവിടെ അടക്കം ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. and he said to Ephron in their hearing, "Listen to me, if you will. I will pay the price of the field. Accept it from me so I can bury my dead there."

14. എഫ്രോൻ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു: യജമാനനേ, കേട്ടാലും:

14. Ephron answered Abraham,

15. "Listen to me, my lord; the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver, but what is that between me and you? Bury your dead."

16. അബ്രാഹാം എഫ്രോന്റെ വാക്കു സമ്മതിച്ചു ഹിത്യർ കേൾക്കെ എഫ്രോൻ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ കച്ചവടക്കാർക്കും നടപ്പുള്ള വെള്ളിശേക്കെൽ നാനൂറു അവന്നു തൂക്കിക്കൊടുത്തു.

16. Abraahaam Ephronte Vaakku Sammathichu Hithyar Kelkke Ephron Paranjathupole Kachavadakkaarkkum Nadappulla Vellishekkel Naanooru Avannu Thookkikkoduththu.

16. Abraham agreed to Ephron's terms and weighed out for him the price he had named in the hearing of the Hittites: four hundred shekels of silver, according to the weight current among the merchants.

17. ഇങ്ങനെ മമ്രേക്കരികെ എഫ്രോന്നുള്ള മൿപേലാനിലവും അതിലെ ഗുഹയും നിലത്തിന്റെ അതിർക്കകത്തുള്ള സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും

17. Ingane Mamrekkarike Ephronnulla Makpelaanilavum Athile Guhayum Nilaththinte Athirkkakaththulla Sakalavrukshangalum

17. So Ephron's field in Machpelah near Mamre-both the field and the cave in it, and all the trees within the borders of the field-was deeded

18. അവന്റെ നഗരവാസികളായ ഹിത്യരുടെ മുമ്പാകെ അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു അവകാശമായി ഉറെച്ചുകിട്ടി.

18. to Abraham as his property in the presence of all the Hittites who had come to the gate of the city.

19. Athinte Shesham Abraahaam Thante Bhaaryayaaya Saaraye Kanaan Dheshaththile Hebron Enna Mamrekkarikeyulla Makpelaanilaththile Guhayil Adakkam Cheythu.

19. Afterward Abraham buried his wife Sarah in the cave in the field of Machpelah near Mamre (which is at Hebron) in the land of Canaan.

20. ഇങ്ങനെ ഹിത്യർ ആ നിലവും അതിലെ ഗുഹയും അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു ശ്മശാനാവകാശമായി ഉറപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

20. Ingane Hithyar Aa Nilavum Athile Guhayum Abraahaaminnu Shmashaanaavakaashamaayi Urappichukoduththu.

20. So the field and the cave in it were deeded to Abraham by the Hittites as a burial site.
