1. അനന്തരം മനുഷ്യൻ തന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ ഹവ്വയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അവൾ ഗർഭംധരിച്ചു കയീനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു: യഹോവയാൽ എനിക്കു ഒരു പുരുഷപ്രജ ലഭിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

1. Anantharam Manushyan Thante Bhaaryayaaya Havvaye Parigrahichu; Aval Garbhamdharichu Kayeene Prasavichu: Yahovayaal Enikku Oru Purushapraja Labhichu Ennu Paranju.

1. Adam lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, "With the help of the LORD I have brought forth a man."

2. പിന്നെ അവൾ അവന്റെ അനുജനായ ഹാബെലിനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. ഹാബെൽ ആട്ടിടയനും കയീൻ കൃഷിക്കാരനും ആയിത്തീർന്നു.

2. Pinne Aval Avante Anujanaaya Haabeline Prasavichu. Haabel Aattidayanum Kayeen Krushikkaaranum Aayiththeernnu.

2. Later she gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil.

3. കുറെക്കാലം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു കയീൻ നിലത്തെ അനുഭവത്തിൽനിന്നു യഹോവെക്കു ഒരു വഴിപാടു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

3. Kurekkaalam Kazhinjittu Kayeen Nilaththe Anubhavaththilninnu Yahovekku Oru Vazhipaadu Konduvannu.

3. In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD.

4. ഹാബെലും ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടത്തിലെ കടിഞ്ഞൂലുകളിൽനിന്നു, അവയുടെ മേദസ്സിൽനിന്നു തന്നേ, ഒരു വഴിപാടു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. യഹോവ ഹാബെലിലും വഴിപാടിലും പ്രസാദിച്ചു.

4. Haabelum Aattin Koottaththile Kadinjoolukalilninnu, Avayude Medhassilninnu Thanne, Oru Vazhipaadu Konduvannu. Yahova Haabelilum Vazhipaadilum Prasaadhichu.

4. But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering,

5. കയീനിലും അവന്റെ വഴിപാടിലും പ്രസാദിച്ചില്ല. കയീന്നു ഏറ്റവും കോപമുണ്ടായി, അവന്റെ മുഖം വാടി.

5. Kayeenilum Avante Vazhipaadilum Prasaadhichilla. Kayeennu Ettavum Kopamundaayi, Avante Mukham Vaadi.

5. but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.

6. എന്നാറെ യഹോവ കയീനോടു: നീ കോപിക്കുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു? നിന്റെ മുഖം വാടുന്നതും എന്തു?

6. Ennaare Yahova Kayeenodu: Nee Kopikkunnathu Enthinnu? Ninte Mukham Vaadunnathum Enthu?

6. Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast?

7. നീ നന്മചെയ്യുന്നു എങ്കിൽ പ്രസാദമുണ്ടാകയില്ലയോ? നീ നന്മ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലെങ്കിലോ പാപം വാതിൽക്കൽ കിടക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ ആഗ്രഹം നിങ്കലേക്കു ആകുന്നു; നീയോ അതിനെ കീഴടക്കേണം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

7. Nee Nanmacheyyunnu Enkil Prasaadhamundaakayillayo? Nee Nanma Cheyyunnillenkilo Paapam Vaathilkkal Kidakkunnu; Athinte Aagraham Ninkalekku Aakunnu; Neeyo Athine Keezhadakkenam Ennu Kalpichu.

7. If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."

8. എന്നാറെ കയീൻ തന്റെ അനുജനായ ഹാബെലിനോടു: (നാം വയലിലേക്കു പോക എന്നു) പറഞ്ഞു. അവർ വയലിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ കയീൻ തന്റെ അനുജനായ ഹാബെലിനോടു കയർത്തു അവനെ കൊന്നു.

8. Ennaare Kayeen Thante Anujanaaya Haabelinodu: (naam Vayalilekku Poka Ennu) Paranju. Avar Vayalil Irikkumpol Kayeen Thante Anujanaaya Haabelinodu Kayarththu Avane Konnu.

8. Now Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let's go out to the field." And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.

9. പിന്നെ യഹോവ കയീനോടു: നിന്റെ അനുജനായ ഹാബെൽ എവിടെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നില്ല; ഞാൻ എന്റെ അനുജന്റെ കാവൽക്കാരനോ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

9. Pinne Yahova Kayeenodu: Ninte Anujanaaya Haabel Evide Ennu Chodhichathinnu: Njaan Ariyunnilla; Njaan Ente Anujante Kaavalkkaarano Ennu Avan Paranju.

9. Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is your brother Abel?I don't know," he replied. "Am I my brother's keeper?"

10. അതിന്നു അവൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു. നീ എന്തു ചെയ്തു? നിന്റെ അനുജന്റെ രക്തത്തിന്റെ ശബ്ദം ഭൂമിയിൽ നിന്നു എന്നോടു നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു.

10. Athinnu Avan Arulicheythathu. Nee Enthu Cheythu? Ninte Anujante Rakthaththinte Shabdham Bhoomiyil Ninnu Ennodu Nilavilikkunnu.

10. The LORD said, "What have you done? Listen! Your brother's blood cries out to me from the ground.

11. ഇപ്പോൾ നിന്റെ അനുജന്റെ രക്തം നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു ഏറ്റുകൊൾവാൻ വായിതുറന്ന ദേശം നീ വിട്ടു ശാപഗ്രസ്തനായി പോകേണം.

11. Ippol Ninte Anujante Raktham Ninte Kayyil Ninnu Ettukolvaan Vaayithuranna Dhesham Nee Vittu Shaapagrasthanaayi Pokenam.

11. Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.

12. നീ കൃഷി ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ നിലം ഇനിമേലാൽ തന്റെ വീര്യം നിനക്കു തരികയില്ല; നീ ഭൂമിയിൽ ഉഴന്നലയുന്നവൻ ആകും.

12. Nee Krushi Cheyyumpol Nilam Inimelaal Thante Veeryam Ninakku Tharikayilla; Nee Bhoomiyil Uzhannalayunnavan Aakum.

12. When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth."

13. കയീൻ യഹോവയോടു: എന്റെ കുറ്റം പൊറുപ്പാൻ കഴിയുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ വലിയതാകുന്നു.

13. Kayeen Yahovayodu: Ente Kuttam Poruppaan Kazhiyunnathinekkaal Valiyathaakunnu.

13. Cain said to the LORD, "My punishment is more than I can bear.

14. ഇതാ, നീ ഇന്നു എന്നെ ആട്ടിക്കളയുന്നു; ഞാൻ തിരുസന്നിധിവിട്ടു ഒളിച്ചു ഭൂമിയിൽ ഉഴന്നലയുന്നവൻ ആകും; ആരെങ്കിലും എന്നെ കണ്ടാൽ, എന്നെ കൊല്ലും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

14. Ithaa, Nee Innu Enne Aattikkalayunnu; Njaan Thirusannidhivittu Olichu Bhoomiyil Uzhannalayunnavan Aakum; Aarenkilum Enne Kandaal, Enne Kollum Ennu Paranju.

14. Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I will be a restless wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me."

15. യഹോവ അവനോടു: അതുകൊണ്ടു ആരെങ്കിലും കയീനെ കൊന്നാൽ അവന്നു ഏഴിരട്ടി പകരം കിട്ടും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു; കയീനെ കാണുന്നവർ ആരും കൊല്ലാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവ അവന്നു ഒരു അടയാളം വെച്ചു.

15. Yahova Avanodu: Athukondu Aarenkilum Kayeene Konnaal Avannu Ezhiratti Pakaram Kittum Ennu Arulicheythu; Kayeene Kaanunnavar Aarum Kollaathirikkendathinnu Yahova Avannu Oru Adayaalam Vechu.

15. But the LORD said to him, "Not so; if anyone kills Cain, he will suffer vengeance seven times over." Then the LORD put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him.

16. അങ്ങനെ കയീൻ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഏദെന്നു കിഴക്കു നോദ് ദേശത്തു ചെന്നു പാർത്തു.

16. Angane Kayeen Yahovayude Sannidhiyil Ninnu Purappettu Edhennu Kizhakku Nodhu Dheshaththu Chennu Paarththu.

16. So Cain went out from the LORD's presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.

17. കയീൻ തന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അവൾ ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചു ഹാനോക്കിനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. അവൻ ഒരു പട്ടണം പണിതു, ഹാനോൿ എന്നു തന്റെ മകന്റെ പേരിട്ടു.

17. Kayeen Thante Bhaaryaye Parigrahichu; Aval Garbham Dharichu Haanokkine Prasavichu. Avan Oru Pattanam Panithu, Haanok Ennu Thante Makante Perittu.

17. Cain lay with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch. Cain was then building a city, and he named it after his son Enoch.

18. ഹാനോക്കിന്നു ഈരാദ് ജനിച്ചു; ഈരാദ് മെഹൂയയേലിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; മെഹൂയയേൽ മെഥൂശയേലിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; മെഥൂശയേൽ ലാമെക്കിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

18. Haanokkinnu Eeraadhu Janichu; Eeraadhu Mehooyayeline Janippichu; Mehooyayel Methooshayeline Janippichu; Methooshayel Laamekkine Janippichu.

18. To Enoch was born Irad, and Irad was the father of Mehujael, and Mehujael was the father of Methushael, and Methushael was the father of Lamech.

19. ലാമെൿ രണ്ടു ഭാര്യമാരെ എടുത്തു; ഒരുത്തിക്കു ആദാ എന്നും മറ്റവൾക്കു സില്ലാ എന്നും പേർ.

19. Laamek Randu Bhaaryamaare Eduththu; Oruththikku Aadhaa Ennum Mattavalkku Sillaa Ennum Per.

19. Lamech married two women, one named Adah and the other Zillah.

20. ആദാ യാബാലിനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു; അവൻ കൂടാരവാസികൾക്കും പശുപാലകന്മാർക്കും പിതാവായ്തീർന്നു.

20. Aadhaa Yaabaaline Prasavichu; Avan Koodaaravaasikalkkum Pashupaalakanmaarkkum Pithaavaaytheernnu.

20. Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the father of those who live in tents and raise livestock.

21. അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്നു യൂബാൽ എന്നു പേർ. ഇവൻ കിന്നരവും വേണുവും പ്രയോഗിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവർക്കും പിതാവായ്തീർന്നു.

21. Avante Sahodharannu Yoobaal Ennu Per. Ivan Kinnaravum Venuvum Prayogikkunna Ellaavarkkum Pithaavaaytheernnu.

21. His brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of all who play the harp and flute.

22. സില്ലാ തൂബൽകയീനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു; അവൻ ചെമ്പുകൊണ്ടും ഇരിമ്പുകൊണ്ടുമുള്ള ആയുധങ്ങളെ തീർക്കുന്നവനായ്തീർന്നു; തൂബൽകയീന്റെ പെങ്ങൾ നയമാ.

22. Sillaa Thoobalkayeene Prasavichu; Avan Chempukondum Irimpukondumulla Aayudhangale Theerkkunnavanaaytheernnu; Thoobalkayeente Pengal Nayamaa.

22. Zillah also had a son, Tubal-Cain, who forged all kinds of tools out of bronze and iron. Tubal-Cain's sister was Naamah.

23. ലാമെൿ തന്റെ ഭാര്യമാരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ആദയും സില്ലയും ആയുള്ളോരേ, എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾപ്പിൻ; ലാമെക്കിൻ ഭാര്യമാരേ, എന്റെ വചനത്തിന്നു ചെവി തരുവിൻ! എന്റെ മുറിവിന്നു പകരം ഞാൻ ഒരു പുരുഷനെയും, എന്റെ പരിക്കിന്നു പകരം ഒരു യുവാവിനെയും കൊല്ലും.

23. Laamek Thante Bhaaryamaarodu Paranjathu: Aadhayum Sillayum Aayullore, Ente Vaakku Kelppin; Laamekkin Bhaaryamaare, Ente Vachanaththinnu Chevi Tharuvin! Ente Murivinnu Pakaram Njaan Oru Purushaneyum, Ente Parikkinnu Pakaram Oru Yuvaavineyum Kollum.

23. Lamech said to his wives, "Adah and Zillah, listen to me; wives of Lamech, hear my words. I have killed a man for wounding me, a young man for injuring me.

24. കയീന്നുവേണ്ടി ഏഴിരട്ടി പകരം ചെയ്യുമെങ്കിൽ, ലാമെക്കിന്നുവേണ്ടി എഴുപത്തേഴു ഇരട്ടി പകരം ചെയ്യും.

24. Kayeennuvendi Ezhiratti Pakaram Cheyyumenkil, Laamekkinnuvendi Ezhupaththezhu Iratti Pakaram Cheyyum.

24. If Cain is avenged seven times, then Lamech seventy-seven times."

25. ആദാം തന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ പിന്നെയും പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അവൾ ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു: കയീൻ കൊന്ന ഹാബെലിന്നു പകരം ദൈവം എനിക്കു മറ്റൊരു സന്തതിയെ തന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു ശേത്ത് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

25. Aadhaam Thante Bhaaryaye Pinneyum Parigrahichu; Aval Oru Makane Prasavichu: Kayeen Konna Haabelinnu Pakaram Dhaivam Enikku Mattoru Santhathiye Thannu Ennu Paranju Avannu Sheththu Ennu Perittu.

25. Adam lay with his wife again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth, saying, "God has granted me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him."

26. ശേത്തിന്നും ഒരു മകൻ ജനിച്ചു; അവന്നു എനോശ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു. ആ കാലത്തു യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിലുള്ള ആരാധന തുടങ്ങി.

26. Sheththinnum Oru Makan Janichu; Avannu Enoshu Ennu Perittu. Aa Kaalaththu Yahovayude Naamaththilulla Aaraadhana Thudangi.

26. Seth also had a son, and he named him Enosh. At that time men began to call on the name of the LORD.
