1. രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം ഫറവോൻ ഒരു സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

1. Randu Samvathsaram Kazhinjashesham Pharavon Oru Svapnam Kandathenthennaal:

1. When two full years had passed, Pharaoh had a dream: He was standing by the Nile,

2. അവൻ നദീതീരത്തു നിന്നു. അപ്പോൾ രൂപഗുണവും മാംസപുഷ്ടിയുമുള്ള ഏഴു പശുനദിയിൽ നിന്നു കയറി, ഞാങ്ങണയുടെ ഇടയിൽ മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

2. Avan Nadheetheeraththu Ninnu. Appol Roopagunavum Maamsapushdiyumulla Ezhu Pashunadhiyil Ninnu Kayari, Njaanganayude Idayil Menjukondirunnu.

2. when out of the river there came up seven cows, sleek and fat, and they grazed among the reeds.

3. അവയുടെ പിന്നാലെ മെലിഞ്ഞും വിരൂപമായുമുള്ള വേറെ ഏഴു പശു നദിയിൽ നിന്നു കയറി, നദീതീരത്തു മറ്റേ പശുക്കളുടെ അരികെ നിന്നു.

3. Avayude Pinnaale Melinjum Viroopamaayumulla Vere Ezhu Pashu Nadhiyil Ninnu Kayari, Nadheetheeraththu Matte Pashukkalude Arike Ninnu.

3. After them, seven other cows, ugly and gaunt, came up out of the Nile and stood beside those on the riverbank.

4. മെലിഞ്ഞും വിരൂപമായുമുള്ള പശുക്കൾ രൂപ ഗുണവും മാംസപുഷ്ടിയുമുള്ള ഏഴു പശുക്കളെ തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞു; അപ്പോൾ ഫറവോൻ ഉണർന്നു.

4. Melinjum Viroopamaayumulla Pashukkal Roopa Gunavum Maamsapushdiyumulla Ezhu Pashukkale Thinnukalanju; Appol Pharavon Unarnnu.

4. And the cows that were ugly and gaunt ate up the seven sleek, fat cows. Then Pharaoh woke up.

5. അവൻ പിന്നെയും ഉറങ്ങി, രണ്ടാമതും ഒരു സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു; പുഷ്ടിയുള്ളതും നല്ലതുമായ ഏഴു കതിർ ഒരു തണ്ടിൽ നിന്നു പൊങ്ങി വന്നു.

5. Avan Pinneyum Urangi, Randaamathum Oru Svapnam Kandu; Pushdiyullathum Nallathumaaya Ezhu Kathir Oru Thandil Ninnu Pongi Vannu.

5. He fell asleep again and had a second dream: Seven heads of grain, healthy and good, were growing on a single stalk.

6. അവയുടെ പിന്നാലെ നേർത്തും കിഴക്കൻ കാറ്റിനാൽ കരിഞ്ഞുമിരിക്കുന്ന ഏഴു കതിർ പൊങ്ങിവന്നു.

6. Avayude Pinnaale Nerththum Kizhakkan Kaattinaal Karinjumirikkunna Ezhu Kathir Pongivannu.

6. After them, seven other heads of grain sprouted-thin and scorched by the east wind.

7. നേർത്ത ഏഴു കതിരുകൾ പുഷ്ടിയും മണിക്കരുത്തുമുള്ള ഏഴു കതിരുകളെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോൾ ഫറവോൻ ഉണർന്നു, അതു സ്വപ്നം എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞു.

7. Nerththa Ezhu Kathirukal Pushdiyum Manikkaruththumulla Ezhu Kathirukale Vizhungikkalanju. Appol Pharavon Unarnnu, Athu Svapnam Ennu Arinju.

7. The thin heads of grain swallowed up the seven healthy, full heads. Then Pharaoh woke up; it had been a dream.

8. പ്രാത:കാലത്തു അവൻ വ്യാകുലപ്പെട്ടു മിസ്രയീമിലെ മന്ത്രവാദികളെയും ജ്ഞാനികളെയും എല്ലാം ആളയച്ചു വരുത്തി അവരോടു തന്റെ സ്വപ്നം പറഞ്ഞു. എന്നാൽ വ്യാഖ്യാനിപ്പാൻ ആർക്കും കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.

8. Praatha:kaalaththu Avan Vyaakulappettu Misrayeemile Manthravaadhikaleyum Jnjaanikaleyum Ellaam Aalayachu Varuththi Avarodu Thante Svapnam Paranju. Ennaal Vyaakhyaanippaan Aarkkum Kazhinjilla.

8. In the morning his mind was troubled, so he sent for all the magicians and wise men of Egypt. Pharaoh told them his dreams, but no one could interpret them for him.

9. അപ്പോൾ പാനപാത്രവാഹകന്മാരുടെ പ്രമാണി ഫറവോനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഇന്നു ഞാൻ എന്റെ കുറ്റം ഔർക്കുംന്നു.

9. Appol Paanapaathravaahakanmaarude Pramaani Pharavonodu Paranjathu: Innu Njaan Ente Kuttam Aurkkumnnu.

9. Then the chief cupbearer said to Pharaoh, "Today I am reminded of my shortcomings.

10. ഫറവോൻ അടിയങ്ങളോടു കോപിച്ചു, എന്നെയും അപ്പക്കാരുടെ പ്രമാണിയെയും അകമ്പടിനായകന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ തടവിലാക്കിയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.

10. Pharavon Adiyangalodu Kopichu, Enneyum Appakkaarude Pramaaniyeyum Akampadinaayakante Veettil Thadavilaakkiyirunnuvallo.

10. Pharaoh was once angry with his servants, and he imprisoned me and the chief baker in the house of the captain of the guard.

11. അവിടെവെച്ചു ഞാനും അവനും ഒരു രാത്രിയിൽ തന്നേ സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു; വെവ്വേറെ അർത്ഥമുള്ള സ്വപ്നം ആയിരുന്നു ഔരോരുത്തൻ കണ്ടതു.

11. Avidevechu Njaanum Avanum Oru Raathriyil Thanne Svapnam Kandu; Vevvere Arththamulla Svapnam Aayirunnu Auroruththan Kandathu.

11. Each of us had a dream the same night, and each dream had a meaning of its own.

12. Avide Akampadi Naayakante Dhaasanaaya Oru Ebraaya Yauvanakkaaran Njangalodukoode Undaayirunnu; Njangal Avanodu Ariyichaare Avan Svapnangale Vyaakhyaanichu; Auroruththannu Thaanthaante Svapnaththinte Arththam Paranjuthannu.

12. Now a young Hebrew was there with us, a servant of the captain of the guard. We told him our dreams, and he interpreted them for us, giving each man the interpretation of his dream.

13. അവൻ അർത്ഥം പറഞ്ഞതു പോലെ തന്നേ സംഭവിച്ചു; എന്നെ വീണ്ടും സ്ഥാനത്തു ആക്കുകയും മറ്റവനെ തൂക്കിക്കളകയും ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.

13. Avan Arththam Paranjathu Pole Thanne Sambhavichu; Enne Veendum Sthaanaththu Aakkukayum Mattavane Thookkikkalakayum Cheythuvallo.

13. And things turned out exactly as he interpreted them to us: I was restored to my position, and the other man was hanged. "

14. ഉടനെ ഫറവോൻ ആളയച്ചു യോസേഫിനെ വിളിപ്പിച്ചു. അവർ അവനെ വേഗത്തിൽ കുണ്ടറയിൽനിന്നു ഇറക്കി; അവൻ ക്ഷൗരം ചെയ്യിച്ചു, വസ്ത്രം മാറി, ഫറവോന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു.

14. So Pharaoh sent for Joseph, and he was quickly brought from the dungeon. When he had shaved and changed his clothes, he came before Pharaoh.

15. ഫറവോൻ യോസേഫിനോടു: ഞാൻ ഒരു സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു; അതിനെ വ്യാഖ്യനിപ്പാൻ ആരുമില്ല; എന്നാൽ നീ ഒരു സ്വപ്നം കേട്ടാൽ വ്യാഖ്യാനിക്കുമെന്നു നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു ഞാൻ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I had a dream, and no one can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it."

16. അതിന്നു യോസേഫ് ഫറവോനോടു: ഞാനല്ല ദൈവം തന്നേ ഫറവോന്നു ശുഭമായോരു ഉത്തരം നലകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. Athinnu Yosephu Pharavonodu: Njaanalla Dhaivam Thanne Pharavonnu Shubhamaayoru Uththaram Nalakum Ennu Paranju.

16. "I cannot do it," Joseph replied to Pharaoh, "but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires."

17. പിന്നെ ഫറവോൻ യോസേഫിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: എന്റെ സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ ഞാൻ നദീതീരത്തു നിന്നു.

17. Pinne Pharavon Yosephinodu Paranjathu: Ente Svapnaththil Njaan Nadheetheeraththu Ninnu.

17. Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "In my dream I was standing on the bank of the Nile,

18. അപ്പോൾ മാംസപുഷ്ടിയും രൂപഗുണവുമുള്ള ഏഴു പശു നദിയിൽനിന്നു കയറി ഞാങ്ങണയുടെ ഇടയിൽ മേഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

18. Appol Maamsapushdiyum Roopagunavumulla Ezhu Pashu Nadhiyilninnu Kayari Njaanganayude Idayil Menjukondirunnu.

18. when out of the river there came up seven cows, fat and sleek, and they grazed among the reeds.

19. അവയുടെ പിന്നാലെ ക്ഷീണിച്ചും മെലിഞ്ഞും എത്രയും വിരൂപമായുമുള്ള വേറെ ഏഴു പശു കയറി വന്നു; അത്ര വിരൂപമായവയെ ഞാൻ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു എങ്ങും കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല.

19. Avayude Pinnaale Ksheenichum Melinjum Ethrayum Viroopamaayumulla Vere Ezhu Pashu Kayari Vannu; Athra Viroopamaayavaye Njaan Misrayeemdheshaththu Engum Kandittilla.

19. After them, seven other cows came up-scrawny and very ugly and lean. I had never seen such ugly cows in all the land of Egypt.

20. എന്നാൽ മെലിഞ്ഞും വിരൂപമായുമുള്ള പശുക്കൾ പുഷ്ടിയുള്ള മുമ്പിലത്തെ ഏഴു പശുക്കളെ തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞു;

20. Ennaal Melinjum Viroopamaayumulla Pashukkal Pushdiyulla Mumpilaththe Ezhu Pashukkale Thinnukalanju;

20. The lean, ugly cows ate up the seven fat cows that came up first.

21. ഇവ അവയുടെ വയറ്റിൽ ചെന്നിട്ടും വയറ്റിൽ ചെന്നു എന്നു അറിവാനില്ലായിരന്നു; അവ മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ തന്നേ വിരൂപമുള്ളവ ആയിരുന്നു. അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ഉണർന്നു.

21. Iva Avayude Vayattil Chennittum Vayattil Chennu Ennu Arivaanillaayirannu; Ava Mumpilaththeppole Thanne Viroopamullava Aayirunnu. Appol Njaan Unarnnu.

21. But even after they ate them, no one could tell that they had done so; they looked just as ugly as before. Then I woke up.

22. പിന്നെയും ഞാൻ സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ കണ്ടതു: നിറഞ്ഞതും നല്ലതുമായ ഏഴു കതിർ ഒരു തണ്ടിൽ പൊങ്ങിവന്നു.

22. Pinneyum Njaan Svapnaththil Kandathu: Niranjathum Nallathumaaya Ezhu Kathir Oru Thandil Pongivannu.

22. "In my dreams I also saw seven heads of grain, full and good, growing on a single stalk.

23. അവയുടെ പിന്നാലെ ഉണങ്ങിയും നേർത്തും കിഴക്കൻ കാറ്റിനാൽ കരിഞ്ഞുമിരിക്കുന്ന ഏഴു കതിർ പൊങ്ങിവന്നു.

23. Avayude Pinnaale Unangiyum Nerththum Kizhakkan Kaattinaal Karinjumirikkunna Ezhu Kathir Pongivannu.

23. After them, seven other heads sprouted-withered and thin and scorched by the east wind.

24. നേർത്ത കതിരുകൾ ഏഴു നല്ല കതിരുകളെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളഞ്ഞു. ഇതു ഞാൻ മന്ത്രവാദികളോടു പറഞ്ഞു; എന്നാൽ വ്യാഖ്യാനിപ്പാൻ ആർക്കും കഴഞ്ഞില്ല.

24. Nerththa Kathirukal Ezhu Nalla Kathirukale Vizhungikkalanju. Ithu Njaan Manthravaadhikalodu Paranju; Ennaal Vyaakhyaanippaan Aarkkum Kazhanjilla.

24. The thin heads of grain swallowed up the seven good heads. I told this to the magicians, but none could explain it to me."

25. അപ്പോൾ യോസേഫ് ഫറവോനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഫറവോന്റെ സ്വപ്നം ഒന്നുതന്നേ; താൻ ചെയ്‍വാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്നതു ദൈവം ഫറവോന്നു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

25. Appol Yosephu Pharavonodu Paranjathu: Pharavonte Svapnam Onnuthanne; Thaan Chey‍vaan Bhaavikkunnathu Dhaivam Pharavonnu Velippeduththiyirikkunnu.

25. Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, "The dreams of Pharaoh are one and the same. God has revealed to Pharaoh what he is about to do.

26. ഏഴു നല്ല പശു ഏഴു സംവത്സരം; നല്ല കതിരും ഏഴു സംവത്സരം; സ്വപ്നം ഒന്നു തന്നേ.

26. Ezhu Nalla Pashu Ezhu Samvathsaram; Nalla Kathirum Ezhu Samvathsaram; Svapnam Onnu Thanne.

26. The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good heads of grain are seven years; it is one and the same dream.

27. അവയുടെ പിന്നാലെ കയറിവന്ന മെലിഞ്ഞും വിരൂപമായുമുള്ള ഏഴു പശുവും കിഴക്കൻ കാറ്റിനാൽ കരിഞ്ഞു പതിരായുള്ള ഏഴു കതിരും ഏഴു സംവത്സരം; അവ ക്ഷാമമുള്ള ഏഴു സംവത്സരം ആകുന്നു.

27. Avayude Pinnaale Kayarivanna Melinjum Viroopamaayumulla Ezhu Pashuvum Kizhakkan Kaattinaal Karinju Pathiraayulla Ezhu Kathirum Ezhu Samvathsaram; Ava Kshaamamulla Ezhu Samvathsaram Aakunnu.

27. The seven lean, ugly cows that came up afterward are seven years, and so are the seven worthless heads of grain scorched by the east wind: They are seven years of famine.

28. ദൈവം ചെയ്‍വാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്നതു ഫറവോന്നു കാണിച്ചു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു അതാകുന്നു ഞാൻ ഫറവോനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു.

28. Dhaivam Chey‍vaan Bhaavikkunnathu Pharavonnu Kaanichu Thannirikkunnu Athaakunnu Njaan Pharavonodu Paranjathu.

28. "It is just as I said to Pharaoh: God has shown Pharaoh what he is about to do.

29. മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു ഒക്കെയും ബഹു സുഭിക്ഷമായ ഏഴു സംവത്സരം വരും.

29. Misrayeemdheshaththu Okkeyum Bahu Subhikshamaaya Ezhu Samvathsaram Varum.

29. Seven years of great abundance are coming throughout the land of Egypt,

30. അതു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ക്ഷാമമുള്ള ഏഴു സംവത്സരം വരും; അപ്പോൾ മിസ്രയീം ദേശത്തു ആ സുഭിക്ഷതയൊക്കെയും മറന്നിരിക്കും; ക്ഷാമത്താൽ ദേശം ഒക്കെയും ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകും. പിൻ വരുന്ന ക്ഷാമം അതികഠിനമായിരിക്കയാൽ ദേശത്തുണ്ടായിരുന്ന സുഭിക്ഷത അറിയാതെയായിപ്പോകും.

30. Athu Kazhinjittu Kshaamamulla Ezhu Samvathsaram Varum; Appol Misrayeem Dheshaththu Aa Subhikshathayokkeyum Marannirikkum; Kshaamaththaal Dhesham Okkeyum Kshayichupokum. Pin Varunna Kshaamam Athikadinamaayirikkayaal Dheshaththundaayirunna Subhikshatha Ariyaatheyaayippokum.

30. but seven years of famine will follow them. Then all the abundance in Egypt will be forgotten, and the famine will ravage the land.

31. ഫറവോന്നു സ്വപ്നം രണ്ടുവട്ടം ഉണ്ടായതോ കാര്യം ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ സ്ഥിരമായിരിക്കകൊണ്ടും ദൈവം അതിനെ വേഗത്തിൽ വരുത്തുവാനിരിക്കകൊണ്ടും ആകുന്നു.

31. Pharavonnu Svapnam Randuvattam Undaayatho Kaaryam Dhaivaththinte Mumpaake Sthiramaayirikkakondum Dhaivam Athine Vegaththil Varuththuvaanirikkakondum Aakunnu.

31. The abundance in the land will not be remembered, because the famine that follows it will be so severe.

32. ആകയാൽ ഫറവോൻ വിവേകവും ജ്ഞാനവുമുള്ള ഒരുത്തനെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിന്നു മേലധികാരി ആക്കി വെക്കേണം.

32. Aakayaal Pharavon Vivekavum Jnjaanavumulla Oruththane Anveshichu Misrayeemdheshaththinnu Meladhikaari Aakki Vekkenam.

32. The reason the dream was given to Pharaoh in two forms is that the matter has been firmly decided by God, and God will do it soon.

33. അതുകൂടാതെ ഫറവോൻ ദേശത്തിന്മേൽ വിചാരകന്മാരെ ആക്കി, സുഭിക്ഷതയുള്ള ഏഴു സംവത്സരത്തിൽ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിലെ വിളവിൽ അഞ്ചിലൊന്നു വാങ്ങേണം.

33. Athukoodaathe Pharavon Dheshaththinmel Vichaarakanmaare Aakki, Subhikshathayulla Ezhu Samvathsaraththil Misrayeemdheshaththile Vilavil Anchilonnu Vaangenam.

33. "And now let Pharaoh look for a discerning and wise man and put him in charge of the land of Egypt.

34. ഈ വരുന്ന നല്ല സംവത്സരങ്ങളിലെ വിളവൊക്കെയും ശേഖരിച്ചു പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ഫറവോന്റെ അധീനത്തിൽ ധാന്യം സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെക്കേണം.

34. Ee Varunna Nalla Samvathsarangalile Vilavokkeyum Shekharichu Pattanangalil Pharavonte Adheenaththil Dhaanyam Sookshichuvekkenam.

34. Let Pharaoh appoint commissioners over the land to take a fifth of the harvest of Egypt during the seven years of abundance.

35. ആ ധാന്യം മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു വരുവാൻ പോകുന്ന ക്ഷാമമുള്ള ഏഴുസംവത്സരത്തേക്കു ദേശത്തിന്നു സംഗ്രഹമായിട്ടിരിക്കേണം; എന്നാൽ ദേശം ക്ഷാമം കൊണ്ടു നശിക്കയില്ല.

35. Aa Dhaanyam Misrayeemdheshaththu Varuvaan Pokunna Kshaamamulla Ezhusamvathsaraththekku Dheshaththinnu Samgrahamaayittirikkenam; Ennaal Dhesham Kshaamam Kondu Nashikkayilla.

35. They should collect all the food of these good years that are coming and store up the grain under the authority of Pharaoh, to be kept in the cities for food.

36. ഈ വാക്കു ഫറവോന്നും അവന്റെ സകലഭൃത്യന്മാർക്കും ബോധിച്ചു.

36. Ee Vaakku Pharavonnum Avante Sakalabhruthyanmaarkkum Bodhichu.

36. This food should be held in reserve for the country, to be used during the seven years of famine that will come upon Egypt, so that the country may not be ruined by the famine."

37. ഫറവോൻ തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരോടു: ദൈവാത്മാവുള്ള ഈ മനുഷ്യനെപ്പോലെ ഒരുത്തനെ കണ്ടുകിട്ടുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

37. Pharavon Thante Bhruthyanmaarodu: Dhaivaathmaavulla Ee Manushyaneppole Oruththane Kandukittumo Ennu Paranju.

37. The plan seemed good to Pharaoh and to all his officials.

38. പിന്നെ ഫറവോൻ യോസേഫിനോടു: ദൈവം ഇതൊക്കെയും നിനക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി തന്നതു കൊണ്ടു നിന്നെപ്പോലെ വിവേകവും ജ്ഞാനവുമുള്ളവൻ ഒരുത്തനുമില്ല.

38. Pinne Pharavon Yosephinodu: Dhaivam Ithokkeyum Ninakku Velippeduththi Thannathu Kondu Ninneppole Vivekavum Jnjaanavumullavan Oruththanumilla.

38. So Pharaoh asked them, "Can we find anyone like this man, one in whom is the spirit of God?"

39. നീ എന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിന്നു മേലധികാരിയാകും; നിന്റെ വാക്കു എന്റെ ജനമെല്ലാം അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കും; സിംഹാസനംകൊണ്ടു മാത്രം ഞാൻ നിന്നെക്കാൾ വലിയവനായിരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

39. Nee Ente Gruhaththinnu Meladhikaariyaakum; Ninte Vaakku Ente Janamellaam Anusarichu Nadakkum; Simhaasanamkondu Maathram Njaan Ninnekkaal Valiyavanaayirikkum Ennu Paranju.

39. Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you.

40. Ithaa, Misrayeemdheshaththinnokkeyum Njaan Ninne Meladhikaari Aakkiyirikkunnu, Ennum Pharavon Yosephinodu Paranju.

40. You shall be in charge of my palace, and all my people are to submit to your orders. Only with respect to the throne will I be greater than you."

41. ഫറവോൻ തന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു മുദ്രമോതിരം ഊരി, യോസേഫിന്റെ കൈകൂ ഇട്ടു, അവനെ നേർമ്മയുള്ള വസ്ത്രംധരിപ്പിച്ചു, ഒരു സ്വർണ്ണസരപ്പളിയും അവന്റെ കഴുത്തിൽ ഇട്ടു.

41. Pharavon Thante Kayyilninnu Mudhramothiram Oori, Yosephinte Kaikoo Ittu, Avane Nermmayulla Vasthramdharippichu, Oru Svarnnasarappaliyum Avante Kazhuththil Ittu.

41. So Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt."

42. തന്റെ രണ്ടാം രഥത്തിൽ അവനെ കയറ്റി: മുട്ടുകുത്തുവിൻ എന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വിളിച്ചു പറയിച്ചു; ഇങ്ങനെ അവനെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തിന്നൊക്കെയും മേലധികാരിയാക്കി.

42. Thante Randaam Rathaththil Avane Kayatti: Muttukuththuvin Ennu Avante Mumpil Vilichu Parayichu; Ingane Avane Misrayeemdheshaththinnokkeyum Meladhikaariyaakki.

42. Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his finger and put it on Joseph's finger. He dressed him in robes of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.

43. പിന്നെ ഫറവോൻ യോസേഫിനോടു: ഞാൻ ഫറവോൻ ആകുന്നു; നിന്റെ കല്പന കൂടാതെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു എങ്ങും യാതൊരുത്തനും കയ്യോ കാലോ അനക്കുകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

43. Pinne Pharavon Yosephinodu: Njaan Pharavon Aakunnu; Ninte Kalpana Koodaathe Misrayeemdheshaththu Engum Yaathoruththanum Kayyo Kaalo Anakkukayilla Ennu Paranju.

43. He had him ride in a chariot as his second-in-command, and men shouted before him, "Make way!" Thus he put him in charge of the whole land of Egypt.

44. ഫറവോൻ യോസേഫിന്നു സാപ്നത്ത് പനേഹ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു; ഔനിലെ പുരോഹിതനായ പോത്തിഫേറയുടെ മകൾ ആസ്നത്തിനെ അവന്നു ഭാര്യയായി കൊടുത്തു. പിന്നെ യോസേഫ് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു സഞ്ചരിച്ചു.

44. Pharavon Yosephinnu Saapnaththu Panehu Ennu Perittu; Aunile Purohithanaaya Poththipherayude Makal Aasnaththine Avannu Bhaaryayaayi Koduththu. Pinne Yosephu Misrayeemdheshaththu Sancharichu.

44. Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I am Pharaoh, but without your word no one will lift hand or foot in all Egypt."

45. യോസേഫ് മിസ്രയീംരാജാവായ ഫറവോന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിലക്കുമ്പോൾ അവന്നു മുപ്പതു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു യോസേഫ് ഫറവോന്റെ സന്നിധാനത്തിൽ നിന്നു പറപ്പെട്ടു മിസ്രയീം ദേശത്തു ഒക്കെയും സഞ്ചരിച്ചു.

45. Yosephu Misrayeemraajaavaaya Pharavonte Mumpaake Nilakkumpol Avannu Muppathu Vayassaayirunnu Yosephu Pharavonte Sannidhaanaththil Ninnu Parappettu Misrayeem Dheshaththu Okkeyum Sancharichu.

45. Pharaoh gave Joseph the name Zaphenath-Paneah and gave him Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, to be his wife. And Joseph went throughout the land of Egypt.

46. എന്നാൽ സുഭിക്ഷമായ ഏഴു സംവത്സരവും ദേശം സമൃദ്ധിയായി വിളഞ്ഞു.

46. Ennaal Subhikshamaaya Ezhu Samvathsaravum Dhesham Samruddhiyaayi Vilanju.

46. Joseph was thirty years old when he entered the service of Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from Pharaoh's presence and traveled throughout Egypt.

47. മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു സുഭിക്ഷത ഉണ്ടായ ഏഴു സംവത്സരത്തിലെ ധാന്യം ഒക്കെയും അവൻ ശേഖരിച്ചു പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ സൂക്ഷിച്ചു; ഔരോ പട്ടണത്തിൽ ചുറ്റുവട്ടത്തുള്ള നിലത്തിലെ ധാന്യം സൂക്ഷിച്ചു.

47. Misrayeemdheshaththu Subhikshatha Undaaya Ezhu Samvathsaraththile Dhaanyam Okkeyum Avan Shekharichu Pattanangalil Sookshichu; Auro Pattanaththil Chuttuvattaththulla Nilaththile Dhaanyam Sookshichu.

47. During the seven years of abundance the land produced plentifully.

48. അങ്ങനെ യോസേഫ് കടൽകരയിലെ മണൽപോലെ എത്രയും വളരെ ധാന്യം ശേഖരിച്ചു വെച്ചു; അളപ്പാൻ കഴിവില്ലായ്കയാൽ അളവു നിർത്തിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

48. Angane Yosephu Kadalkarayile Manalpole Ethrayum Valare Dhaanyam Shekharichu Vechu; Alappaan Kazhivillaaykayaal Alavu Nirththikkalanju.

48. Joseph collected all the food produced in those seven years of abundance in Egypt and stored it in the cities. In each city he put the food grown in the fields surrounding it.

49. ക്ഷാമകാലം വരുംമുമ്പെ യോസേഫിന്നു രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാർ ജനിച്ചു; അവരെ ഔനിലെ പുരോഹിതനായ പോത്തിഫേറയുടെ മകൾ ആസ്നത്ത് പ്രസവിച്ചു.

49. Kshaamakaalam Varummumpe Yosephinnu Randu Puthranmaar Janichu; Avare Aunile Purohithanaaya Poththipherayude Makal Aasnaththu Prasavichu.

49. Joseph stored up huge quantities of grain, like the sand of the sea; it was so much that he stopped keeping records because it was beyond measure.

50. എന്റെ സകല കഷ്ടതയും എന്റെ പിതൃഭവനം ഒക്കെയും ദൈവം എന്നെ മറക്കുമാറാക്കി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു യോസേഫ് തന്റെ ആദ്യജാതന്നു മനശ്ശെ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

50. Ente Sakala Kashdathayum Ente Pithrubhavanam Okkeyum Dhaivam Enne Marakkumaaraakki Ennu Paranju Yosephu Thante Aadhyajaathannu Manashe Ennu Perittu.

50. Before the years of famine came, two sons were born to Joseph by Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On.

51. സങ്കടദേശത്തു ദൈവം എന്നെ വർദ്ധിപ്പിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു, അവൻ രണ്ടാമത്തവന്നു എഫ്രയീം എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

51. Sankadadheshaththu Dhaivam Enne Varddhippichu Ennu Paranju, Avan Randaamaththavannu Ephrayeem Ennu Perittu.

51. Joseph named his firstborn Manasseh and said, "It is because God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father's household."

52. മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുണ്ടായ സുഭിക്ഷതയുള്ള ഏഴു സംവത്സരം കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ

52. Misrayeemdheshaththundaaya Subhikshathayulla Ezhu Samvathsaram Kazhinjappol

52. The second son he named Ephraim and said, "It is because God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering."

53. യോസേഫ് പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ക്ഷാമമുള്ള ഏഴു സംവത്സരം തുടങ്ങി; സകലദേശങ്ങളിലും ക്ഷാമമുണ്ടായി; എന്നാൽ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു എല്ലാടവും ആഹാരം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

53. Yosephu Paranjathupole Kshaamamulla Ezhu Samvathsaram Thudangi; Sakaladheshangalilum Kshaamamundaayi; Ennaal Misrayeemdheshaththu Ellaadavum Aahaaram Undaayirunnu.

53. The seven years of abundance in Egypt came to an end,

54. പിന്നെ മിസ്രയീം ദേശത്തു എല്ലാടവും ക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടായപ്പോൾ ജനങ്ങൾ ആഹാരത്തിന്നായി ഫറവോനോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; ഫറവോൻ മിസ്രയീമ്യരോടു ഒക്കെയും: നിങ്ങൾ യോസേഫിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെല്ലുവിൻ ; അവൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുംപോലെ ചെയ്‍വിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

54. Pinne Misrayeem Dheshaththu Ellaadavum Kshaamam Undaayappol Janangal Aahaaraththinnaayi Pharavonodu Nilavilichu; Pharavon Misrayeemyarodu Okkeyum: Ningal Yosephinte Adukkal Chelluvin ; Avan Ningalodu Parayumpole Chey‍vin Ennu Paranju.

54. and the seven years of famine began, just as Joseph had said. There was famine in all the other lands, but in the whole land of Egypt there was food.

55. ക്ഷാമം ഭൂതലത്തിലൊക്കെയും ഉണ്ടായി; യോസേഫ് പാണ്ടികശാലകൾ ഒക്കെയും തുറന്നു, മിസ്രയീമ്യർക്കും ധാന്യം വിറ്റു; ക്ഷാമം മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തും കഠിനമായ്തീർന്നു.

55. Kshaamam Bhoothalaththilokkeyum Undaayi; Yosephu Paandikashaalakal Okkeyum Thurannu, Misrayeemyarkkum Dhaanyam Vittu; Kshaamam Misrayeemdheshaththum Kadinamaaytheernnu.

55. When all Egypt began to feel the famine, the people cried to Pharaoh for food. Then Pharaoh told all the Egyptians, "Go to Joseph and do what he tells you."

56. ഭൂമിയിൽ എങ്ങും ക്ഷാമം കഠിനമായയ്തീർന്നതുകൊണ്ടു സകലദേശക്കാരും ധാന്യം കൊള്ളുവാൻ മിസ്രയീമിൽ യോസേഫിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു.

56. Bhoomiyil Engum Kshaamam Kadinamaayaytheernnathukondu Sakaladheshakkaarum Dhaanyam Kolluvaan Misrayeemil Yosephinte Adukkal Vannu.

56. When the famine had spread over the whole country, Joseph opened the storehouses and sold grain to the Egyptians, for the famine was severe throughout Egypt.

57. And all the countries came to Egypt to buy grain from Joseph, because the famine was severe in all the world.
