1. Anantharam Yosephinnu: Ninte Appan Dheenamaayi Kidakkunnu Ennu Varththamaanam Vannu; Udane Avan Manashe, Ephrayeem Enna Randu Puthranmaareyum Koottikkondu Chennu:

1. Some time later Joseph was told, "Your father is ill." So he took his two sons Manasseh and Ephraim along with him.

4. എന്നോടു: ഞാൻ നിന്നെ സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവനാക്കി പെരുക്കി നിന്നെ ജനസമൂഹമാക്കുകയും നിന്റെ ശേഷം നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കു ഈ ദേശം ശാശ്വതാവകാശമായി കൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

4. Ennodu: Njaan Ninne Santhaanapushdiyullavanaakki Perukki Ninne Janasamoohamaakkukayum Ninte Shesham Ninte Santhathikku Ee Dhesham Shaashvathaavakaashamaayi Kodukkayum Cheyyum Ennu Arulicheythu.

4. and said to me, 'I am going to make you fruitful and will increase your numbers. I will make you a community of peoples, and I will give this land as an everlasting possession to your descendants after you.'

5. മിസ്രയീമിൽ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഞാൻ വരുംമുമ്പെ നിനക്കു മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുവെച്ചു ജനിച്ച രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാരായ മനശ്ശെയും എഫ്രയീമും എനിക്കുള്ളവർ ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ; രൂബേനും ശിമെയോനും എന്നപോലെ അവർ എനിക്കുള്ളവരായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

5. Misrayeemil Ninte Adukkal Njaan Varummumpe Ninakku Misrayeemdheshaththuvechu Janicha Randu Puthranmaaraaya Manasheyum Ephrayeemum Enikkullavar Aayirikkatte; Roobenum Shimeyonum Ennapole Avar Enikkullavaraayirikkatte.

5. "Now then, your two sons born to you in Egypt before I came to you here will be reckoned as mine; Ephraim and Manasseh will be mine, just as Reuben and Simeon are mine.

6. ഇവരുടെ ശേഷം നിനക്കു ജനിക്കുന്ന സന്തതിയോ നിനക്കുള്ളവരായിരിക്കട്ടെ; അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ അവകാശത്തിൽ തങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ പേരിൻ പ്രകാരം വിളിക്കപ്പെടട്ടെ.

6. Ivarude Shesham Ninakku Janikkunna Santhathiyo Ninakkullavaraayirikkatte; Avar Thangalude Avakaashaththil Thangalude Sahodharanmaarude Perin Prakaaram Vilikkappedatte.

6. Any children born to you after them will be yours; in the territory they inherit they will be reckoned under the names of their brothers.

7. Njaan Paddhanilninnu Varumpol, Kanaan Dheshaththu Ephraaththil Eththuvaan Alpam Dhooram Maathramullappol Vazhiyilvechu Raahel Marichu; Njaan Avale Avide Beththlehem Enna Ephraaththinnulla Vazhiyarike Adakkam Cheythu.

7. As I was returning from Paddan, to my sorrow Rachel died in the land of Canaan while we were still on the way, a little distance from Ephrath. So I buried her there beside the road to Ephrath" (that is, Bethlehem).

8. When Israel saw the sons of Joseph, he asked, "Who are these?"

9. "They are the sons God has given me here," Joseph said to his father. Then Israel said, "Bring them to me so I may bless them."

10. Now Israel's eyes were failing because of old age, and he could hardly see. So Joseph brought his sons close to him, and his father kissed them and embraced them.

11. യിസ്രായേൽ യോസേഫിനോടു: നിന്റെ മുഖം കാണുമെന്നു ഞാൻ വിചാരിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല; എന്നാൽ നിന്റെ സന്തതിയെയും കാണ്മാൻ ദൈവം എനിക്കു സംഗതിവരുത്തിയല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

11. Yisraayel Yosephinodu: Ninte Mukham Kaanumennu Njaan Vichaarichirunnilla; Ennaal Ninte Santhathiyeyum Kaanmaan Dhaivam Enikku Samgathivaruththiyallo Ennu Paranju.

11. Israel said to Joseph, "I never expected to see your face again, and now God has allowed me to see your children too."

12. യോസേഫ് അവരെ അവന്റെ മുഴങ്കാലുകൾക്കിടയിൽ നിന്നു മാറ്റി സാഷ്ടാംഗം നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

12. Then Joseph removed them from Israel's knees and bowed down with his face to the ground.

13. Pinne Yosephu Ephrayeemine Valankaikondu Pidichu Yisraayelinte Idankaikoo Nereyum Manasheye Idankaikondu Pidichu Yisraayelinte Valankaikoo Nereyumaayi Ingane Randupereyum Avante Adukkal Konduchennu.

13. And Joseph took both of them, Ephraim on his right toward Israel's left hand and Manasseh on his left toward Israel's right hand, and brought them close to him.

14. യിസ്രായേൽ വലങ്കൈ നീട്ടി ഇളയവനായ എഫ്രയീമിന്റെ തലയിലും ഇടങ്കൈ മൂത്തവനായ മനശ്ശെയുടെ തലയിലുമായി അങ്ങനെ തന്റെ കൈകളെ പിണെച്ചുവെച്ചു.

14. Yisraayel Valankai Neetti Ilayavanaaya Ephrayeeminte Thalayilum Idankai Mooththavanaaya Manasheyude Thalayilumaayi Angane Thante Kaikale Pinechuvechu.

14. But Israel reached out his right hand and put it on Ephraim's head, though he was the younger, and crossing his arms, he put his left hand on Manasseh's head, even though Manasseh was the firstborn.

15. പിന്നെ അവൻ യോസേഫിനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു: എന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരായ അബ്രാഹാമും യിശ്ഹാക്കും ഭജിച്ചുപോന്ന ദൈവം, ഞാൻ ജനിച്ച നാൾമുതൽ ഇന്നുവരെയും എന്നെ പുലർത്തിയിരിക്കുന്ന ദൈവം,

15. Pinne Avan Yosephine Anugrahichu: Ente Pithaakkanmaaraaya Abraahaamum Yishhaakkum Bhajichuponna Dhaivam, Njaan Janicha Naalmuthal Innuvareyum Enne Pularththiyirikkunna Dhaivam,

15. Then he blessed Joseph and said, "May the God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day,

16. എന്നെ സകലദോഷങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും വിടുവിച്ച ദൂതൻ ഈ കുട്ടികളെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ; എന്റെ പേരും എന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെയും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെയും പേരും ഇവരിൽ നിലനിലക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ; അവർ ഭൂമിയിൽ കൂട്ടമായി വർദ്ധിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. Enne Sakaladhoshangalilninnum Viduvicha Dhoothan Ee Kuttikale Anugrahikkumaaraakatte; Ente Perum Ente Pithaakkanmaaraaya Abraahaaminteyum Yishaakkinteyum Perum Ivaril Nilanilakkumaaraakatte; Avar Bhoomiyil Koottamaayi Varddhikkatte Ennu Paranju.

16. the Angel who has delivered me from all harm -may he bless these boys. May they be called by my name and the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac, and may they increase greatly upon the earth."

17. അപ്പൻ വലങ്കൈ എഫ്രയീമിന്റെ തലയിൽവെച്ചു എന്നു യോസേഫ് കണ്ടപ്പോൾ അവന്നു അനിഷ്ടം തോന്നി; അപ്പന്റെ കൈ എഫ്രയീമിന്റെ തലയിൽനിന്നു മനശ്ശെയുടെ തലയിൽ മാറ്റിവെപ്പാൻ പിടിച്ചു.

17. Appan Valankai Ephrayeeminte Thalayilvechu Ennu Yosephu Kandappol Avannu Anishdam Thonni; Appante Kai Ephrayeeminte Thalayilninnu Manasheyude Thalayil Maattiveppaan Pidichu.

17. When Joseph saw his father placing his right hand on Ephraim's head he was displeased; so he took hold of his father's hand to move it from Ephraim's head to Manasseh's head.

18. യോസേഫ് അപ്പനോടു: അങ്ങനെയല്ല, എന്റെ അപ്പാ; ഇവനല്ലോ ആദ്യജാതൻ ; ഇവന്റെ തലയിൽ വലങ്കൈ വെക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

18. Yosephu Appanodu: Anganeyalla, Ente Appaa; Ivanallo Aadhyajaathan ; Ivante Thalayil Valankai Vekkenam Ennu Paranju.

18. Joseph said to him, "No, my father, this one is the firstborn; put your right hand on his head."

19. എന്നാൽ അവന്റെ അപ്പൻ സമ്മതിക്കാതെ എനിക്കു അറിയാം; മകനേ, എനിക്കു അറിയാം; ഇവനും ഒരു വലിയ ജനമായിത്തീരും, ഇവനും വർദ്ധിക്കും; എങ്കിലും അനുജൻ അവനെക്കാൾ അധികം വർദ്ധിക്കും; അവന്റെ സന്തതി ജനസമൂഹമായ്തീരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. Ennaal Avante Appan Sammathikkaathe Enikku Ariyaam; Makane, Enikku Ariyaam; Ivanum Oru Valiya Janamaayiththeerum, Ivanum Varddhikkum; Enkilum Anujan Avanekkaal Adhikam Varddhikkum; Avante Santhathi Janasamoohamaaytheerum Ennu Paranju.

19. But his father refused and said, "I know, my son, I know. He too will become a people, and he too will become great. Nevertheless, his younger brother will be greater than he, and his descendants will become a group of nations."

20. അങ്ങനെ അവൻ അന്നു അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു: ദൈവം നിന്നെ എഫ്രയീമിനെയും മനശ്ശെയെയുംപോലെ ആക്കുമാറാകട്ട എന്നു യിസ്രായേല്യർ നിന്റെ പേർ ചൊല്ലി അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും. എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു എഫ്രയീമിനെ മനശ്ശെക്കു മുമ്പാക്കി.

20. Angane Avan Annu Avare Anugrahichu: Dhaivam Ninne Ephrayeemineyum Manasheyeyumpole Aakkumaaraakatta Ennu Yisraayelyar Ninte Per Cholli Anugrahikkum. Ennu Paranju Ephrayeemine Manashekku Mumpaakki.

20. He blessed them that day and said, "In your name will Israel pronounce this blessing: 'May God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh.'" So he put Ephraim ahead of Manasseh.

21. യോസേഫിനോടു യിസ്രായേൽ പറഞ്ഞതു: ഇതാ, ഞാൻ മരിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവം നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു നിങ്ങളെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദേശത്തേക്കു മടക്കി കൊണ്ടുപോകും.

21. Yosephinodu Yisraayel Paranjathu: Ithaa, Njaan Marikkunnu; Dhaivam Ningalodukoode Irunnu Ningale Ningalude Pithaakkanmaarude Dheshaththekku Madakki Kondupokum.

21. Then Israel said to Joseph, "I am about to die, but God will be with you and take you back to the land of your fathers.

22. എന്റെ വാളും വില്ലുംകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ അമോർയ്യരുടെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു പിടിച്ചടക്കിയ മലഞ്ചരിവു ഞാൻ നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഔഹരിയിൽ കവിഞ്ഞതായി നിനക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

22. Ente Vaalum Villumkondu Njaan Amoryyarude Kayyil Ninnu Pidichadakkiya Malancharivu Njaan Ninte Sahodharanmaarude Auhariyil Kavinjathaayi Ninakku Thannirikkunnu.

22. And to you, as one who is over your brothers, I give the ridge of land I took from the Amorites with my sword and my bow."
