1. ഔബദ്യാവിന്റെ ദർശനം. യഹോവയായ കർത്താവു എദോമിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; നാം യഹോവയിങ്കൽനിന്നു ഒരു വർത്തമാനം കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഒരു ദൂതനെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എഴുന്നേല്പിൻ ; നാം അവളുടെ നേരെ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പറപ്പെടുക.

1. Aubadhyaavinte Dharshanam. Yahovayaaya Karththaavu Edhominekkurichu Iprakaaram Arulicheyyunnu; Naam Yahovayinkalninnu Oru Varththamaanam Kettirikkunnu; Jaathikalude Idayil Oru Dhoothane Ayachirikkunnu; Ezhunnelpin ; Naam Avalude Nere Yuddhaththinnu Parappeduka.

1. The vision of Obadiah. This is what the Sovereign LORD says about Edom- We have heard a message from the LORD: An envoy was sent to the nations to say, "Rise, and let us go against her for battle"-

2. ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ അല്പമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ അത്യന്തം ധിക്കരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

2. Njaan Ninne Jaathikalude Idayil Alpamaakkiyirikkunnu; Nee Athyantham Dhikkarikkappettirikkunnu.

2. "See, I will make you small among the nations; you will be utterly despised.

3. പാറപ്പിളർപ്പുകളിൽ പാർക്കുംന്നവനും ഉന്നതവാസമുള്ളവനും ആർ എന്നെ നിലത്തു തള്ളിയിടും എന്നു ഹൃദയത്തിൽ പറയുന്നവനുമായവനേ, നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ അഹങ്കാരം നിന്നെ ചതിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

3. Paarappilarppukalil Paarkkumnnavanum Unnathavaasamullavanum Aar Enne Nilaththu Thalliyidum Ennu Hrudhayaththil Parayunnavanumaayavane, Ninte Hrudhayaththinte Ahankaaram Ninne Chathichirikkunnu.

3. The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rocks and make your home on the heights, you who say to yourself, 'Who can bring me down to the ground?'

4. നീ കഴുകനേപ്പോലെ ഉയർന്നാലും, നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ കൂടുവെച്ചാലും, അവിടെനിന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഇറക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

4. Nee Kazhukaneppole Uyarnnaalum, Nakshathrangalude Idayil Kooduvechaalum, Avideninnu Njaan Ninne Irakkum Ennu Yahovayude Arulappaadu.

4. Though you soar like the eagle and make your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down," declares the LORD.

5. കള്ളന്മാർ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നാലോ, രാത്രിയിൽ പിടിച്ചുപറിക്കാർ വന്നാലോ--നീ എങ്ങനെ നശിച്ചുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു--അവർ തങ്ങൾക്കു മതിയാകുവോളം മോഷ്ടിക്കയില്ലയോ? മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം പറിക്കുന്നവർ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നാൽ അവർ ഏതാനും കാലാപ്പഴം ശേഷിപ്പിക്കയില്ലയോ?

5. Kallanmaar Ninte Adukkal Vannaalo, Raathriyil Pidichuparikkaar Vannaalo--nee Engane Nashichupoyirikkunnu--avar Thangalkku Mathiyaakuvolam Moshdikkayillayo? Munthirippazham Parikkunnavar Ninte Adukkal Vannaal Avar Ethaanum Kaalaappazham Sheshippikkayillayo?

5. "If thieves came to you, if robbers in the night- Oh, what a disaster awaits you- would they not steal only as much as they wanted? If grape pickers came to you, would they not leave a few grapes?

6. ഏശാവിന്നുള്ളവരെ കണ്ടുപിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതും അവന്റെ നിക്ഷേപങ്ങളെ തിരഞ്ഞു കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നതും എങ്ങനെ?

6. Eshaavinnullavare Kandupidichirikkunnathum Avante Nikshepangale Thiranju Kandirikkunnathum Engane?

6. But how Esau will be ransacked, his hidden treasures pillaged!

7. നിന്നോടു സഖ്യതയുള്ളവരൊക്കെയും നിന്നെ അതിരോളം അയച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; നിന്നോടു സന്ധിയുള്ളവർ നിന്നെ ചതിച്ചു തോല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ ആഹാരം ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നവർ നിനക്കു കണിവെക്കുന്നു; അവന്നു ബുദ്ധി ഒട്ടും ഇല്ല.

7. Ninnodu Sakhyathayullavarokkeyum Ninne Athirolam Ayachukalanju; Ninnodu Sandhiyullavar Ninne Chathichu Tholpichirikkunnu; Ninte Aahaaram Bhakshikkunnavar Ninakku Kanivekkunnu; Avannu Buddhi Ottum Illa.

7. All your allies will force you to the border; your friends will deceive and overpower you; those who eat your bread will set a trap for you, but you will not detect it.

8. അന്നാളിൽ ഞാൻ എദോമിൽനിന്നു ജ്ഞാനികളെയും ഏശാവിന്റെ പർവ്വതത്തിൽ നിന്നു വിവേകത്തെയും നശിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

8. Annaalil Njaan Edhomilninnu Jnjaanikaleyum Eshaavinte Parvvathaththil Ninnu Vivekaththeyum Nashippikkum Ennu Yahovayude Arulappaadu.

8. "In that day," declares the LORD, "will I not destroy the wise men of Edom, men of understanding in the mountains of Esau?

9. ഏശാവിന്റെ പർവ്വതത്തിൽ ഏവനും കുലയാൽ ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം തേമാനേ, നിന്റെ വീരന്മാർ ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകും.

9. Eshaavinte Parvvathaththil Evanum Kulayaal Chedhikkappeduvaan Thakkavannam Themaane, Ninte Veeranmaar Bhramichupokum.

9. Your warriors, O Teman, will be terrified, and everyone in Esau's mountains will be cut down in the slaughter.

10. നിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യാക്കോബിനോടു നീ ചെയ്ത സാഹസംനിമിത്തം ലജ്ജ നിന്നെ മൂടും; നീ സദാകാലത്തേക്കും ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും.

10. Ninte Sahodharanaaya Yaakkobinodu Nee Cheytha Saahasamnimiththam Lajja Ninne Moodum; Nee Sadhaakaalaththekkum Chedhikkappedum.

10. Because of the violence against your brother Jacob, you will be covered with shame; you will be destroyed forever.

11. നീ എതിരെ നിന്ന നാളിൽ അന്യജാതിക്കാർ അവന്റെ സമ്പത്തു അപഹരിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോകയും അന്യദേശക്കാർ അവന്റെ ഗോപുരങ്ങളിൽ കടന്നു യെരൂശലേമിന്നു ചീട്ടിടുകയും ചെയ്ത നാളിൽ തന്നേ, നീയും അവരിൽ ഒരുത്തനെപ്പോലെ ആയിരുന്നു.

11. Nee Ethire Ninna Naalil Anyajaathikkaar Avante Sampaththu Apaharichu Kondupokayum Anyadheshakkaar Avante Gopurangalil Kadannu Yerooshaleminnu Cheettidukayum Cheytha Naalil Thanne, Neeyum Avaril Oruththaneppole Aayirunnu.

11. On the day you stood aloof while strangers carried off his wealth and foreigners entered his gates and cast lots for Jerusalem, you were like one of them.

12. നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ ദിവസം, അവന്റെ അനർത്ഥദിവസം തന്നെ, നീ കണ്ടു രസിക്കേണ്ടതല്ല; നീ യെഹൂദ്യരെക്കുറിച്ചു അവരുടെ അപായദിവസത്തിൽ സന്തോഷിക്കേണ്ടതല്ല; അവരുടെ കഷ്ടദിവസത്തിൽ നീ വമ്പു പറയേണ്ടതല്ല.

12. Ninte Sahodharante Dhivasam, Avante Anarththadhivasam Thanne, Nee Kandu Rasikkendathalla; Nee Yehoodhyarekkurichu Avarude Apaayadhivasaththil Santhoshikkendathalla; Avarude Kashdadhivasaththil Nee Vampu Parayendathalla.

12. You should not look down on your brother in the day of his misfortune, nor rejoice over the people of Judah in the day of their destruction, nor boast so much in the day of their trouble.

13. എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ അപായദിവസത്തിൽ നീ അവരുടെ വാതിലിന്നകത്തു കടക്കേണ്ടതല്ല; അവരുടെ അപായദിവസത്തിൽ നീ അവരുടെ അനർത്ഥം കണ്ടു രസിക്കേണ്ടതല്ല; അവരുടെ അപായദിവസത്തിൽ അവരുടെ സമ്പത്തിന്മേൽ നീ കൈ വെക്കേണ്ടതല്ല.

13. Ente Janaththinte Apaayadhivasaththil Nee Avarude Vaathilinnakaththu Kadakkendathalla; Avarude Apaayadhivasaththil Nee Avarude Anarththam Kandu Rasikkendathalla; Avarude Apaayadhivasaththil Avarude Sampaththinmel Nee Kai Vekkendathalla.

13. You should not march through the gates of my people in the day of their disaster, nor look down on them in their calamity in the day of their disaster, nor seize their wealth in the day of their disaster.

14. അവന്റെ പലായിതന്മാരെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളവാൻ നീ വഴിത്തലെക്കൽ നിൽക്കേണ്ടതല്ല; കഷ്ടദിവസത്തിൽ അവന്നു ശേഷിച്ചവരെ നീ ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കേണ്ടതുമല്ല.

14. Avante Palaayithanmaare Chedhichukalavaan Nee Vazhiththalekkal Nilkkendathalla; Kashdadhivasaththil Avannu Sheshichavare Nee Elpichukodukkendathumalla.

14. You should not wait at the crossroads to cut down their fugitives, nor hand over their survivors in the day of their trouble.

15. സകലജാതികൾക്കും യഹോവയുടെ നാൾ അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിന്നോടും ചെയ്യും; നിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി നിന്റെ തലമേൽ തന്നേ മടങ്ങിവരും.

15. Sakalajaathikalkkum Yahovayude Naal Aduththirikkunnu; Nee Cheythirikkunnathupole Ninnodum Cheyyum; Ninte Pravruththi Ninte Thalamel Thanne Madangivarum.

15. "The day of the LORD is near for all nations. As you have done, it will be done to you; your deeds will return upon your own head.

16. നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധപർവ്വതത്തിൽവെച്ചു കുടിച്ചതുപോലെ സകലജാതികളും ഇടവിടാതെ കുടിക്കും; അവർ മോന്തിക്കുടിക്കയും ജനിക്കാത്തവരെപ്പോലെ ആകയും ചെയ്യും.

16. Ningal Ente Vishuddhaparvvathaththilvechu Kudichathupole Sakalajaathikalum Idavidaathe Kudikkum; Avar Monthikkudikkayum Janikkaaththavareppole Aakayum Cheyyum.

16. Just as you drank on my holy hill, so all the nations will drink continually; they will drink and drink and be as if they had never been.

17. എന്നാൽ സീയോൻ പർവ്വതത്തിൽ ഒരു രക്ഷിത ഗണം ഉണ്ടാകും; അതു വിശുദ്ധമായിരിക്കും; യാക്കോബ്ഗൃഹം തങ്ങളുടെ അവകാശങ്ങളെ കൈവശമാക്കും.

17. Ennaal Seeyon Parvvathaththil Oru Rakshitha Ganam Undaakum; Athu Vishuddhamaayirikkum; Yaakkobgruham Thangalude Avakaashangale Kaivashamaakkum.

17. But on Mount Zion will be deliverance; it will be holy, and the house of Jacob will possess its inheritance.

18. അന്നു യാക്കോബ് ഗൃഹം തീയും യോസേഫ്ഗൃഹം ജ്വാലയും ഏശാവുഗൃഹം താളടിയും ആയിരിക്കും; അവർ അവരെ കത്തിച്ചു ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും; ഏശാവുഗൃഹത്തിന്നു ശേഷിപ്പു ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; യഹോവയല്ലോ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതു.

18. Annu Yaakkobu Gruham Theeyum Yosephgruham Jvaalayum Eshaavugruham Thaaladiyum Aayirikkum; Avar Avare Kaththichu Dhahippichukalayum; Eshaavugruhaththinnu Sheshippu Undaakayilla; Yahovayallo Arulicheythirikkunnathu.

18. The house of Jacob will be a fire and the house of Joseph a flame; the house of Esau will be stubble, and they will set it on fire and consume it. There will be no survivors from the house of Esau." The LORD has spoken.

19. തെക്കേ ദേശക്കാർ ഏശാവിന്റെ പർവ്വതവും താഴ്വീതിയിലുള്ളവർ ഫെലിസ്ത്യദേശവും കൈവശമാക്കും; അവർ എഫ്രയീംപ്രദേശത്തെയും ശമർയ്യാപ്രദേശത്തെയും കൈവശമാക്കും; ബെന്യാമീനോ ഗിലെയാദിനെ കൈവശമാക്കും.

19. Thekke Dheshakkaar Eshaavinte Parvvathavum Thaazhveethiyilullavar Phelisthyadheshavum Kaivashamaakkum; Avar Ephrayeempradheshaththeyum Shamaryyaapradheshaththeyum Kaivashamaakkum; Benyaameeno Gileyaadhine Kaivashamaakkum.

19. People from the Negev will occupy the mountains of Esau, and people from the foothills will possess the land of the Philistines. They will occupy the fields of Ephraim and Samaria, and Benjamin will possess Gilead.

20. ഈ കോട്ടയിൽനിന്നു പ്രവാസികളായി പോയ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ സാരെഫാത്ത്വരെ കനാന്യർക്കുംള്ളതും സെഫാരദിലുള്ള യെരൂശലേമ്യപ്രവാസികൾ തെക്കെദേശത്തെ പട്ടണങ്ങളും കൈവശമാക്കും.

20. Ee Kottayilninnu Pravaasikalaayi Poya Yisraayelmakkal Saarephaaththvare Kanaanyarkkumllathum Sephaaradhilulla Yerooshalemyapravaasikal Thekkedheshaththe Pattanangalum Kaivashamaakkum.

20. This company of Israelite exiles who are in Canaan will possess the land as far as Zarephath; the exiles from Jerusalem who are in Sepharad will possess the towns of the Negev.

21. ഏശാവിന്റെ പർവ്വതത്തെ ന്യായംവിധിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു രക്ഷകന്മാർ സീയോൻ പർവ്വതത്തിൽ കയറിച്ചെല്ലും; രാജത്വം യഹോവേക്കു ആകും.

21. Eshaavinte Parvvathaththe Nyaayamvidhikkendathinnu Rakshakanmaar Seeyon Parvvathaththil Kayarichellum; Raajathvam Yahovekku Aakum.

21. Deliverers will go up on Mount Zion to govern the mountains of Esau. And the kingdom will be the LORD's.
