1. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായി ആമോന്റെ മകനായ യോശീയാവിന്റെ കാലത്തു, ഹിസ്കീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ അമർയ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ ഗെദല്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ കൂശിയുടെ മകനായ സെഫന്യാവിന്നുണ്ടായ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

1. Yehoodhaaraajaavaayi Aamonte Makanaaya Yosheeyaavinte Kaalaththu, Hiskeeyaavinte Makanaaya Amaryyaavinte Makanaaya Gedhalyaavinte Makanaaya Kooshiyude Makanaaya Sephanyaavinnundaaya Yahovayude Arulappaadu.

1. The word of the LORD that came to Zephaniah son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hezekiah, during the reign of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah:

2. ഞാൻ ഭൂതലത്തിൽനിന്നു സകലത്തെയും സംഹരിച്ചുകളയും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

2. Njaan Bhoothalaththilninnu Sakalaththeyum Samharichukalayum Ennu Yahovayude Arulappaadu.

2. "I will sweep away everything from the face of the earth," declares the LORD.

3. ഞാൻ മനുഷ്യരെയും മൃഗങ്ങളെയും സംഹരിക്കും; ഞാൻ ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവജാതിയെയും സമുദ്രത്തിലെ മത്സ്യങ്ങളെയും ദുഷ്ടന്മാരോടുകൂടെ ഇടർച്ചകളെയും സംഹരിക്കും; ഞാൻ ഭൂതലത്തിൽ നിന്നു മനുഷ്യനെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

3. Njaan Manushyareyum Mrugangaleyum Samharikkum; Njaan Aakaashaththile Paravajaathiyeyum Samudhraththile Mathsyangaleyum Dhushdanmaarodukoode Idarchakaleyum Samharikkum; Njaan Bhoothalaththil Ninnu Manushyane Chedhichukalayum Ennu Yahovayude Arulappaadu.

3. "I will sweep away both men and animals; I will sweep away the birds of the air and the fish of the sea. The wicked will have only heaps of rubble when I cut off man from the face of the earth," declares the LORD.

4. ഞാൻ യെഹൂദയുടെ മേലും യെരൂശലേമിലെ സകലനിവാസികളുടെ മേലും കൈ നീട്ടും; ഞാൻ ഈ സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു ബാലിന്റെ ശേഷിപ്പിനെയും പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടു കൂടെ പൂജാരികളുടെ പേരിനെയും

4. Njaan Yehoodhayude Melum Yerooshalemile Sakalanivaasikalude Melum Kai Neettum; Njaan Ee Sthalaththuninnu Baalinte Sheshippineyum Purohithanmaarodu Koode Poojaarikalude Perineyum

4. "I will stretch out my hand against Judah and against all who live in Jerusalem. I will cut off from this place every remnant of Baal, the names of the pagan and the idolatrous priests-

5. മേൽപുരകളിൽ ആകാശത്തിലെ സൈന്യത്തെ നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നവരെയും യഹോവയെച്ചൊല്ലിയും മൽക്കാമിനെച്ചൊല്ലിയും സത്യം ചെയ്തു നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നവരെയും യഹോവയെ വിട്ടു പിന്മാറിയവരെയും

5. Melpurakalil Aakaashaththile Sainyaththe Namaskarikkunnavareyum Yahovayecholliyum Malkkaaminecholliyum Sathyam Cheythu Namaskarikkunnavareyum Yahovaye Vittu Pinmaariyavareyum

5. those who bow down on the roofs to worship the starry host, those who bow down and swear by the LORD and who also swear by Molech,

6. യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കയോ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു ചോദിക്കയോ ചെയ്യാത്തവരെയും ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും.

6. Yahovaye Anveshikkayo Avanekkurichu Chodhikkayo Cheyyaaththavareyum Chedhichukalayum.

6. those who turn back from following the LORD and neither seek the LORD nor inquire of him.

7. യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ മിണ്ടാതിരിക്ക; യഹോവയുടെ ദിവസം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവ ഒരു യാഗസദ്യ ഒരുക്കി താൻ ക്ഷണിച്ചവരെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

7. Yahovayaaya Karththaavinte Sannidhiyil Mindaathirikka; Yahovayude Dhivasam Aduththirikkunnu; Yahova Oru Yaagasadhya Orukki Thaan Kshanichavare Vishuddheekarichumirikkunnu.

7. Be silent before the Sovereign LORD, for the day of the LORD is near. The LORD has prepared a sacrifice; he has consecrated those he has invited.

8. എന്നാൽ യഹോവയുടെ യാഗസദ്യയുള്ള ദിവസത്തിൽ ഞാൻ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും രാജകുമാരന്മാരെയും അന്യദേശവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഏവരെയും സന്ദർശിക്കും.

8. Ennaal Yahovayude Yaagasadhyayulla Dhivasaththil Njaan Prabhukkanmaareyum Raajakumaaranmaareyum Anyadheshavasthram Dharichirikkunna Evareyum Sandharshikkum.

8. On the day of the LORD's sacrifice I will punish the princes and the king's sons and all those clad in foreign clothes.

9. അന്നാളിൽ ഞാൻ ഉമ്മരപ്പടി ചാടിക്കടക്കുന്ന ഏവരെയും സാഹസവും വഞ്ചനയുംകൊണ്ടു തങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനന്മാരുടെ വീടുകളെ നിറെക്കുന്നവരെയും സന്ദർശിക്കും.

9. Annaalil Njaan Ummarappadi Chaadikkadakkunna Evareyum Saahasavum Vanchanayumkondu Thangalude Yajamaananmaarude Veedukale Nirekkunnavareyum Sandharshikkum.

9. On that day I will punish all who avoid stepping on the threshold, who fill the temple of their gods with violence and deceit.

10. അന്നാളിൽ മത്സ്യഗോപുരത്തിൽനിന്നു ഉറക്കെയുള്ളോരു നിലവിളിയും രണ്ടാമത്തെ നഗരാംശത്തിൽനിന്നു ഒരു മുറവിളയും കുന്നുകളിൽനിന്നു ഒരു ത്സടത്സടനാദവും ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

10. Annaalil Mathsyagopuraththilninnu Urakkeyulloru Nilaviliyum Randaamaththe Nagaraamshaththilninnu Oru Muravilayum Kunnukalilninnu Oru Thsadathsadanaadhavum Undaakum Ennu Yahovayude Arulappaadu.

10. "On that day," declares the LORD, "a cry will go up from the Fish Gate, wailing from the New Quarter, and a loud crash from the hills.

11. മക്തേശ് നിവാസികളെ, മുറയിടുവിൻ ; വ്യാപാരിജനം ഒക്കെയും നശിച്ചുപോയല്ലോ; സകല ദ്രവ്യവാഹകന്മാരും ഛേദിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. Maktheshu Nivaasikale, Murayiduvin ; Vyaapaarijanam Okkeyum Nashichupoyallo; Sakala Dhravyavaahakanmaarum Chedhikkappettirikkunnu.

11. Wail, you who live in the market district; all your merchants will be wiped out, all who trade with silver will be ruined.

12. ആ കാലത്തു ഞാൻ യെരൂശലേമിനെ വിളകൂ കത്തിച്ചു ശോധന കഴിക്കയും മട്ടിന്മേൽ ഉറെച്ചുകിടന്നു: യഹോവ ഗുണമോ ദോഷമോ ചെയ്കയില്ല എന്നു ഹൃദയത്തിൽ പറയുന്ന പുരുഷന്മാരെ സന്ദർശിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

12. Aa Kaalaththu Njaan Yerooshalemine Vilakoo Kaththichu Shodhana Kazhikkayum Mattinmel Urechukidannu: Yahova Gunamo Dhoshamo Cheykayilla Ennu Hrudhayaththil Parayunna Purushanmaare Sandharshikkayum Cheyyum.

12. At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps and punish those who are complacent, who are like wine left on its dregs, who think, 'The LORD will do nothing, either good or bad.'

13. അങ്ങനെ അവരുടെ സമ്പത്തു കവർച്ചയും അവരുടെ വീടുകൾ ശൂന്യവും ആയ്തീരും; അവർ വീടു പണിയും, പാർക്കയില്ലതാനും; അവർ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം ഉണ്ടാക്കും വീഞ്ഞു കുടിക്കയില്ലതാനും.

13. Angane Avarude Sampaththu Kavarchayum Avarude Veedukal Shoonyavum Aaytheerum; Avar Veedu Paniyum, Paarkkayillathaanum; Avar Munthiriththottam Undaakkum Veenju Kudikkayillathaanum.

13. Their wealth will be plundered, their houses demolished. They will build houses but not live in them; they will plant vineyards but not drink the wine.

14. യഹോവയുടെ മഹാദിവസം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു അടുത്തു അത്യന്തം ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടുവരുന്നു; കേട്ടോ യഹോവയുടെ ദിവസം! വീരൻ അവിടെ ക� ിനമായി നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു.

14. "The great day of the LORD is near- near and coming quickly. Listen! The cry on the day of the LORD will be bitter, the shouting of the warrior there.

15. ആ ദിവസം ക്രോധദിവസം, കഷ്ടവും സങ്കടവും ഉള്ള ദിവസം, ശൂന്യതയും നാശവും ഉള്ള ദിവസം, ഇരുട്ടും അന്ധകാരവും ഉള്ള ദിവസം, മേഘവും മൂടലും ഉള്ള ദിവസം,

15. Aa Dhivasam Krodhadhivasam, Kashdavum Sankadavum Ulla Dhivasam, Shoonyathayum Naashavum Ulla Dhivasam, Iruttum Andhakaaravum Ulla Dhivasam, Meghavum Moodalum Ulla Dhivasam,

15. That day will be a day of wrath, a day of distress and anguish, a day of trouble and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness,

16. ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങൾക്കും ഉയരമുള്ള കൊത്തളങ്ങൾക്കും വിരോധമായി കാഹളനാദവും ആരവവും ഉള്ള ദിവസം തന്നേ.

16. Urappulla Pattanangalkkum Uyaramulla Koththalangalkkum Virodhamaayi Kaahalanaadhavum Aaravavum Ulla Dhivasam Thanne.

16. a day of trumpet and battle cry against the fortified cities and against the corner towers.

17. മനുഷ്യർ കുരുടന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നടക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാൻ അവർക്കും കഷ്ടത വരുത്തും; അവർ യഹോവയോടു പാപം ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ; അവരുടെ രക്തം പൊടിപോലെയും അവരുടെ മാംസം കാഷ്ടംപോലെയും ചൊരിയും.

17. Manushyar Kurudanmaareppole Nadakkaththakkavannam Njaan Avarkkum Kashdatha Varuththum; Avar Yahovayodu Paapam Cheythuvallo; Avarude Raktham Podipoleyum Avarude Maamsam Kaashdampoleyum Choriyum.

17. I will bring distress on the people and they will walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD. Their blood will be poured out like dust and their entrails like filth.

18. യഹോവയുടെ ക്രോധദിവസത്തിൽ അവരുടെ വെള്ളിക്കും പൊന്നിന്നും അവരെ രക്ഷിപ്പാൻ കഴികയില്ല; സർവ്വഭൂമിയും അവന്റെ തീക്ഷണതാഗ്നിക്കു ഇരയായ്തീരും; സകല ഭൂവാസികൾക്കും അവൻ ശീഘ്രസംഹാരം വരുത്തും.

18. Yahovayude Krodhadhivasaththil Avarude Vellikkum Ponninnum Avare Rakshippaan Kazhikayilla; Sarvvabhoomiyum Avante Theekshanathaagnikku Irayaaytheerum; Sakala Bhoovaasikalkkum Avan Sheeghrasamhaaram Varuththum.

18. Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of the LORD's wrath. In the fire of his jealousy the whole world will be consumed, for he will make a sudden end of all who live in the earth."
