1. ദൈവപുത്രനായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ സുവിശേഷത്തിന്റെ ആരംഭം:

1. The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

2. “ഞാൻ നിനക്കു മുമ്പായി എന്റെ ദൂതനെ അയക്കുന്നു; അവൻ നിന്റെ വഴി ഒരുക്കും.

2. “njaan Ninakku Mumpaayi Ente Dhoothane Ayakkunnu; Avan Ninte Vazhi Orukkum.

2. It is written in Isaiah the prophet: "I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way"--

3. കർത്താവിന്റെ വഴി ഒരുക്കുവിൻ അവന്റെ പാത നിരപ്പാക്കുവിൻ എന്നു മരുഭൂമിയിൽ വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നവന്റെ വാക്കു” എന്നിങ്ങനെ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്റെ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ യോഹന്നാൻ വന്നു

3. "a voice of one calling in the desert, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.'"

4. മരുഭൂമിയിൽ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചും പാപമോചനത്തിന്നായുള്ള മാനസാന്തര സ്നാനം പ്രസംഗിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ യെഹൂദ്യദേശം ഒക്കെയും യെരൂശലേമ്യർ എല്ലാവരും വന്നു പാപങ്ങളെ ഏറ്റു പറഞ്ഞു യോർദ്ദാൻ നദിയിൽ അവനാൽ സ്നാനം കഴിഞ്ഞു.

4. And so John came, baptizing in the desert region and preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

5. യോഹന്നാനോ ഒട്ടക രോമംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ഉടുപ്പും അരയിൽ തോൽ വാറും ധരിച്ചും വെട്ടുക്കിളിയും കാട്ടുതേനും ഉപജീവിച്ചും പോന്നു.

5. Yohannaano Ottaka Romamkondulla Uduppum Arayil Thol Vaarum Dharichum Vettukkiliyum Kaattuthenum Upajeevichum Ponnu.

5. The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.

6. എന്നിലും ബലമേറിയവൻ എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ചെരിപ്പിന്റെ വാറു കുനിഞ്ഞഴിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ യോഗ്യനല്ല.

6. Ennilum Balameriyavan Ente Pinnaale Varunnu; Avante Cherippinte Vaaru Kuninjazhippaan Njaan Yogyanalla.

6. John wore clothing made of camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey.

7. ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ വെള്ളത്തിൽ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അവനോ നിങ്ങളെ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിൽ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു അവൻ പ്രസംഗിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. Njaan Ningale Vellaththil Snaanam Kazhippikkunnu; Avano Ningale Parishuddhaathmaavil Snaanam Kazhippikkum Ennu Avan Prasamgichu Paranju.

7. And this was his message: "After me will come one more powerful than I, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.

8. ആ കാലത്തു യേശു ഗലീലയിലെ നസറെത്തിൽ നിന്നു വന്നു യോഹന്നാനാൽ യോർദ്ദാനിൽ സ്നാനം കഴിഞ്ഞു.

8. Aa Kaalaththu Yeshu Galeelayile Nasareththil Ninnu Vannu Yohannaanaal Yorddhaanil Snaanam Kazhinju.

8. I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."

9. വെള്ളത്തിൽ നിന്നു കയറിയ ഉടനെ ആകാശം പിളരുന്നതും ആത്മാവു പ്രാവുപോലെ തന്റെ മേൽ വരുന്നതും കണ്ടു:

9. At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan.

10. നീ എന്റെ പ്രിയപുത്രൻ ; നിന്നിൽ ഞാൻ പ്രസാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിന്നു ഒരു ശബ്ദവും ഉണ്ടായി.

10. Nee Ente Priyaputhran ; Ninnil Njaan Prasaadhichirikkunnu Ennu Svarggaththil Ninnu Oru Shabdhavum Undaayi.

10. As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.

11. അനന്തരം ആത്മാവു അവനെ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു പോകുവാൻ നിർബന്ധിച്ചു.

11. Anantharam Aathmaavu Avane Marubhoomiyilekku Pokuvaan Nirbandhichu.

11. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."

12. അവിടെ അവൻ സാത്താനാൽ പരീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടു നാല്പതു ദിവസം മരുഭൂമിയിൽ കൂട്ടു മൃഗങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു; ദൂതന്മാർ അവനെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു പോന്നു.

12. Avide Avan Saaththaanaal Pareekshikkappettu Naalpathu Dhivasam Marubhoomiyil Koottu Mrugangalodukoode Aayirunnu; Dhoothanmaar Avane Shushrooshichu Ponnu.

12. At once the Spirit sent him out into the desert,

13. എന്നാൽ യോഹന്നാൻ തടവിൽ ആയശേഷം യേശു ഗലീലയിൽ ചെന്നു ദൈവ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിച്ചു:

13. Ennaal Yohannaan Thadavil Aayashesham Yeshu Galeelayil Chennu Dhaiva Raajyaththinte Suvishesham Prasamgichu:

13. and he was in the desert forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels attended him.

14. കാലം തികഞ്ഞു ദൈവരാജ്യം സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു സുവിശേഷത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

14. Kaalam Thikanju Dhaivaraajyam Sameepichirikkunnu; Maanasaantharappettu Suvisheshaththil Vishvasippin Ennu Paranju.

14. After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God.

15. അവൻ ഗലീലക്കടല്പുറത്തു നടക്കുമ്പോൾ ശീമോനും അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അന്ത്രെയാസും കടലിൽ വല വീശുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അവർ മീൻ പിടിക്കുന്നവർ ആയിരുന്നു.

15. Avan Galeelakkadalpuraththu Nadakkumpol Sheemonum Avante Sahodharanaaya Anthreyaasum Kadalil Vala Veeshunnathu Kandu; Avar Meen Pidikkunnavar Aayirunnu.

15. "The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!"

16. യേശു അവരോടു: എന്നെ അനുഗമിപ്പിൻ ; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ മുനഷ്യരെ പിടിക്കുന്നവരാക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. Yeshu Avarodu: Enne Anugamippin ; Njaan Ningale Munashyare Pidikkunnavaraakkum Ennu Paranju.

16. As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.

17. ഉടനെ അവർ വല വിട്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

17. Udane Avar Vala Vittu Avane Anugamichu.

17. "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."

18. അവിടെ നിന്നു അല്പം മുന്നോട്ടു ചെന്നപ്പോൾ സെബെദിയുടെ മകനായ യാക്കോബും അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യോഹന്നാനും പടകിൽ ഇരുന്നു വല നന്നാക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

18. Avide Ninnu Alpam Munnottu Chennappol Sebedhiyude Makanaaya Yaakkobum Avante Sahodharanaaya Yohannaanum Padakil Irunnu Vala Nannaakkunnathu Kandu.

18. At once they left their nets and followed him.

19. ഉടനെ അവരെയും വിളിച്ചു; അവർ അപ്പനായ സെബെദിയെ കൂലിക്കാരോടുകൂടെ പടകിൽ വിട്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

19. Udane Avareyum Vilichu; Avar Appanaaya Sebedhiye Koolikkaarodukoode Padakil Vittu Avane Anugamichu.

19. When he had gone a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets.

20. അവർ കഫർന്നഹൂമിലേക്കു പോയി; ശബ്ബത്തിൽ അവൻ പള്ളിയിൽ ചെന്നു ഉപദേശിച്ചു.

20. Avar Kapharnnahoomilekku Poyi; Shabbaththil Avan Palliyil Chennu Upadheshichu.

20. Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.

21. അവന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തിങ്കൽ അവർ വിസ്മയിച്ചു; അവൻ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരെപ്പോലെയല്ല, അധികാരമുള്ളവനായിട്ടത്രേ അവരെ ഉപദേശിച്ചതു.

21. Avante Upadheshaththinkal Avar Vismayichu; Avan Shaasthrimaareppoleyalla, Adhikaaramullavanaayittathre Avare Upadheshichathu.

21. They went to Capernaum, and when the Sabbath came, Jesus went into the synagogue and began to teach.

22. അവരുടെ പള്ളിയിൽ അശുദ്ധാത്മാവുള്ള ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ ണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ നിലവിളിച്ചു:

22. Avarude Palliyil Ashuddhaathmaavulla Oru Manushyan Ndaayirunnu; Avan Nilavilichu:

22. The people were amazed at his teaching, because he taught them as one who had authority, not as the teachers of the law.

23. നസറായനായ യേശുവേ, ഞങ്ങൾക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മിൽ എന്തു? ഞങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ വന്നുവോ? നീ ആർ എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പിരിശുദ്ധൻ തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. Nasaraayanaaya Yeshuve, Njangalkkum Ninakkum Thammil Enthu? Njangale Nashippippaan Vannuvo? Nee Aar Ennu Njaan Ariyunnu; Dhaivaththinte Pirishuddhan Thanne Ennu Paranju.

23. Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an evil spirit cried out,

24. യേശു അതിനെ ശാസിച്ചു: മിണ്ടരുതു; അവനെ വിട്ടു പോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. Yeshu Athine Shaasichu: Mindaruthu; Avane Vittu Po Ennu Paranju.

24. "What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are--the Holy One of God!"

25. അപ്പോൾ അശുദ്ധാത്മാവു അവനെ ഇഴെച്ചു, ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു അവനെ വിട്ടു പോയി.

25. Appol Ashuddhaathmaavu Avane Izhechu, Urakke Nilavilichu Avane Vittu Poyi.

25. "Be quiet!" said Jesus sternly. "Come out of him!"

26. എല്ലാവരും ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു: ഇതെന്തു? ഒരു പുതിയ ഉപദേശം; അവൻ അധികാരത്തോടെ അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കളോടും കല്പിക്കുന്നു; അവ അവനെ അനുസരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറങ്ങു തമ്മിൽ വാദിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

26. Ellaavarum Aashcharyappettu: Ithenthu? Oru Puthiya Upadhesham; Avan Adhikaaraththode Ashuddhaathmaakkalodum Kalpikkunnu; Ava Avane Anusarikkayum Cheyyunnu Ennu Parangu Thammil Vaadhichukondirunnu.

26. The evil spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek.

27. അവന്റെ ശ്രുതി വേഗത്തിൽ ഗലീലനോടു എങ്ങും പരന്നു.

27. Avante Shruthi Vegaththil Galeelanodu Engum Parannu.

27. The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, "What is this? A new teaching--and with authority! He even gives orders to evil spirits and they obey him."

28. അനന്തരം അവർ പള്ളിയിൽ നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി യാക്കോബും യോഹന്നാനുമായി ശിമോന്റെയും അന്ത്രെയാസിന്റെയും വീട്ടിൽ വന്നു.

28. Anantharam Avar Palliyil Ninnu Irangi Yaakkobum Yohannaanumaayi Shimonteyum Anthreyaasinteyum Veettil Vannu.

28. News about him spread quickly over the whole region of Galilee.

29. അവിടെ ശിമോന്റെ അമ്മാവിയമ്മ പനിപിടിച്ചു കിടന്നിരുന്നു; അവർ അവളെക്കുറിച്ചു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. Avide Shimonte Ammaaviyamma Panipidichu Kidannirunnu; Avar Avalekkurichu Avanodu Paranju.

29. As soon as they left the synagogue, they went with James and John to the home of Simon and Andrew.

30. അവൻ അടുത്തു ചെന്നു അവളെ കൈകൂപിടിച്ചു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു; പനി അവളെ വിട്ടുമാറി, അവൾ അവരെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു.

30. Avan Aduththu Chennu Avale Kaikoopidichu Ezhunnelpichu; Pani Avale Vittumaari, Aval Avare Shushrooshichu.

30. Simon's mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they told Jesus about her.

31. വൈകുന്നേരം സൂര്യൻ അസ്തമിച്ചശേഷം അവർ സകലവിധദീനക്കാരെയും ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

31. Vaikunneram Sooryan Asthamichashesham Avar Sakalavidhadheenakkaareyum Bhoothagrasthareyum Avante Adukkal Konduvannu.

31. So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them.

32. പട്ടണം ഒക്കെയും വാതിൽക്കൽ വന്നു കൂടിയിരുന്നു.

32. Pattanam Okkeyum Vaathilkkal Vannu Koodiyirunnu.

32. That evening after sunset the people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed.

33. നാനവ്യാധികളാൽ വലഞ്ഞിരുന്ന അനേകരെ അവൻ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി, അനേകം ഭൂതങ്ങളെയും പുറത്താക്കി; ഭൂതങ്ങൾ അവനെ അറികകൊണ്ടു സംസാരിപ്പാൻ അവയെ സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല.

33. Naanavyaadhikalaal Valanjirunna Anekare Avan Saukhyamaakki, Anekam Bhoothangaleyum Puraththaakki; Bhoothangal Avane Arikakondu Samsaarippaan Avaye Sammathichilla.

33. The whole town gathered at the door,

34. അതികാലത്തു ഇരുട്ടോടെ അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഒരു നിർജ്ജനസ്ഥലത്തു ചെന്നു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു.

34. Athikaalaththu Iruttode Avan Ezhunnettu Purappettu Oru Nirjjanasthalaththu Chennu Praarththichu.

34. and Jesus healed many who had various diseases. He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was.

35. ശിമോനും കൂടെയുള്ളവരും അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു,

35. Shimonum Koodeyullavarum Avante Pinnaale Chennu,

35. Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

36. അവനെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ: എല്ലാവരും നിന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

36. Avane Kandappol: Ellaavarum Ninne Anveshikkunnu Ennu Paranju.

36. Simon and his companions went to look for him,

37. അവൻ അവരോടു: ഞാൻ അടുത്ത ഊരുകളിലും പ്രസംഗിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നാം അവിടേക്കു പോക; ഇതിന്നായിട്ടല്ലോ ഞാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

37. Avan Avarodu: Njaan Aduththa Oorukalilum Prasamgikkendathinnu Naam Avidekku Poka; Ithinnaayittallo Njaan Purappettu Vannirikkunnathu Ennu Paranju.

37. and when they found him, they exclaimed: "Everyone is looking for you!"

38. അങ്ങനെ അവൻ ഗലീലയിൽ ഒക്കെയും അവരുടെ പള്ളികളിൽ ചെന്നു പ്രസംഗിക്കയും ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

38. Angane Avan Galeelayil Okkeyum Avarude Pallikalil Chennu Prasamgikkayum Bhoothangale Puraththaakkukayum Cheythu.

38. Jesus replied, "Let us go somewhere else--to the nearby villages--so I can preach there also. That is why I have come."

39. ഒരു കുഷ്� രോഗി അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു മുട്ടുകുത്തി: നിനക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ എന്നെ ശുദ്ധമാക്കുവാൻ കഴിയും എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

39. 

39. So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.

40. യേശു മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞു കൈ നീട്ടി അവനെ തൊട്ടു:

40. Yeshu Manassalinju Kai Neetti Avane Thottu:

40. A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, "If you are willing, you can make me clean."

41. മനസ്സുണ്ടു, ശുദ്ധമാക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ ഉടനെ കുഷ്� ം വിട്ടുമാറി അവന്നു ശുദ്ധിവന്നു.

41. Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!"

42. യേശു അവനെ അമർച്ചയായി ശാസിച്ചു:

42. Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured.

43. നോകൂ, ആരോടും ഒന്നും പറയരുതു; എന്നാൽ ചെന്നു പുരോഹിതന്നു നിന്നെത്തന്നേ കാണിച്ചു, നിന്റെ ശുദ്ധീകരണത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി മോശെ കല്പിച്ചതു അവർക്കും സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി അർപ്പിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ വിട്ടയച്ചു.

43. Nokoo, Aarodum Onnum Parayaruthu; Ennaal Chennu Purohithannu Ninneththanne Kaanichu, Ninte Shuddheekaranaththinnu Vendi Moshe Kalpichathu Avarkkum Saakshyaththinnaayi Arppikka Ennu Paranju Avane Vittayachu.

43. Jesus sent him away at once with a strong warning:

44. അവനോ പുറപ്പെട്ടു വളരെ ഘോഷിപ്പാനും വസ്തുത പ്രസംഗിപ്പാനും തുടങ്ങി; അതിനാൽ യേശുവിന്നു പരസ്യമായി പട്ടണത്തിൽ കടപ്പാൻ കഴിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവൻ പുറത്തു നിർജ്ജനസ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ പാർത്തു; എല്ലാടത്തു നിന്നും ആളുകൾ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു കൂടി.

44. Avano Purappettu Valare Ghoshippaanum Vasthutha Prasamgippaanum Thudangi; Athinaal Yeshuvinnu Parasyamaayi Pattanaththil Kadappaan Kazhiyaaykakondu Avan Puraththu Nirjjanasthalangalil Paarththu; Ellaadaththu Ninnum Aalukal Avante Adukkal Vannu Koodi.

44. "See that you don't tell this to anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them."

45. Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere.
