A chink or cleft; a narrow and deep ravine; as, Shanklin Chine in the Isle of Wight, a quarter of a mile long and 230 feet deep.
- The backbone or spine, especially of an animal.
- A cut of meat containing part of the backbone.
- A ridge or crest.
- Nautical The line of intersection between the side and bottom of a flatbottom or V-bottom boat.
- To cut (a carcass, for example) through the spine, as when butchering.
